... ok, first, some words:
- This somehow came out of nowhere.
- I should have listened to Malban, who insisted that first I finish at least some of the many unfinished Vectrex projects I have started during the past years, but reflexes got the better of me...
- My son and I were playing Vectrex together. First he played Vec-Man, then he played Rotor. And then he had an idea, something that he wanted to play...
- So, over night, I hacked a quick prototype. I re-used large parts of the Vec-Man game engine code, some parts of the Rotor code, and added some vector lists from various unfinished projects.

Hi guys,
has anyone possibly already taken a look at this and tried the demo game?
Would be great to get some feedback on whether or not this idea is fun and worth to be further explored, and on whether or not continuing the development would be worth the effort.
Many Cheers, Peer

Hi Peer,
I never wrote back to you about number cruncher. I played it pretty soon after you released it... but somehow did not take the time to at least write a short notice - sorry for that.
Number Cruncher is a "typical" Peer game :-). Directly out of Sesame Street! (For others out there - as is "The Count" - which is probably just around the corner to be released!!!)
Quite logically - since it is fusion of two of your other games.
Since it seems nobody has played the game - a little introduction with my words.
It is a reverse and ordered Pacman! You play Pacman in his Labyrinth. There are no dots and no ghosts... But instead of ghosts, there are numbers (in various "number" shapes (numbers, dice, binary...) ) floating thru the labyinth and you have to collect them in the order given (and from level 2 onword in a given time!).
If you collect them in the correct order, everything is fine. If you happen to collect a number which was not in order the number "transforms" into a spider and chases you thru the labyinth. (seemgly there are 5 different AIs-behind the spiders)
It has cute graphics and animations, and nice little sound jingles. For a beta it is very well polished. The graphics are changing every now and than. So there is diversity.
Since the numbers can be up to 0-10 there are quite a lot of them floating around and it can be a challenge not to touch the wrong number and thus releasy a deadly spider.
But actually - this can bepart of the strategy... if the last collected number was e.g. a "4" and the a "six" comes along and directly behind the "6" the "5" is located - personally I release the spider and collect the "5". One spider more - but I can continue directly with number "7".
You can even challenge yourself and say: ordered numbers? I don't care, I clear the labyrinth as fast as I can (and with each collected number it gets more difficult).
Overall a very fun game, I think at least equally fun as VecMan.
Do not let this one get away... do some more levels and release is "full"!
Cheers
Malban
