... and here it is: a new version of project Happy Bird is available for download:
- Bug related to scale factors fixed
- Collision detection improved
- Short death-animation added, so that the collision can now be seen
- Highscore screen made tournament-friendly

.. Thanks again to the testers! Please check out this new version. Great that there is a possibly fixed version of Happy Bird! I'd like to help testing this new version but as written before my scores in Happy Bird are pathetic and will not allow for judging whether the bug is fixed or not. I much hope that Brett ( playvectrex) or his kids will have a third look at Happy Bird. On Saturday, the yearly Vector War XIII has started. In this year's Vectrex Academy there were many jewels and it was a tough decision which games to play in Vector war. I've chosen following games for Vector War XIII: VecDrift, Wet Cat, Tee time, and Happy Bird. So far, feedback of players for the game list was very positive. Again, thank you, all students, for your excellent work and results in the Vectrex Academy 2023!

Yes, I also want to say here again, how awesome great these games are. I like all games from Vectrex academy, but Wet Cat and VecDrift are some of my favourites this year. I played Wet Cat already for hours during Vector War. And I will keep some of these games in mind, to play them later again. Also I should check again the old games from the last years.
Really a big THANK YOU to Peer and all students / programmers for these great games. And also the ideas, because it is not always easy to find good ideas, and also release them or create a good game. I admire your work :-)

Are there zip files with all Academy ROMs available for each year? Good question/suggestion. Perhaps, at the end of each Vectrex Academy all binaries might be zipped and made available on the Vectrex Academy pages. |

Vector War XIII is over for a long time and I see that I forgot to provide some final feedback. VecDrift, Wet Cat, Tee time, and Happy Bird were played within Vector War and this was a great success: VecDrift, Wet Cat, Tee time, and Happy Bird were play a lot, most of all Wet Cat. One more "Congratulations!" and "Thank you!" from my side to all developers of the Vectrex Academy for crafting excellent games and making them available.
