Hello all!
I recently traded my spice orange GameCube and my n64 for a Vectrex with 7 CIB Games! Super exciting. I’ve been lurking for a long time, and finally got one. My display works perfectly, but my audio sometimes jumps to maximum when turning the knob. Sometimes it works perfectly as intended, but then the audio randomly goes to full volume before turning back to normal when I twist again. Is there a fix for this? Contact cleaner seems to be working so far, but I don’t feel comfortable opening the console. Thanks so much!

Seems like you have a dirty potentiometer. First thing to try is simply twisting the knob back and forth a bunch of times with the Vectrex turned off. That may loosen up some of the dirt. If that doesn't work, open up the Vectrex and blow compressed air around the pot. If still no dice, then my favorite contact cleaner is DeoxIT. They sell a spray and a gel. The spray might work better in this case.
