No problem :-) Thanks a lot. (Was also too lazy to check all posts about new scores...)

Tried Release, Rip Off and EDIH a lot without good scores. But then I had luck in Bedlam (sorryyyy Peer!). At least not far over 200'000 like 4 years ago... And for improving my ranking, I played Clean Sweep again. OK, 50000 seems to be a good limit, depending of, how you are playing. If you just play and collect the dots, you will need a lot of time to reach 50000 in later levels. If you use the first three or four levels, to always "eat" so many enemies as possible, you can collect points already in the beginning. (1st enemy=100 points, second=200 points, third=400 points, forth=800 points). So if you wait in a corner until all 4 enemies are near, and you catch 'em all, you can collect up to 1500 points in a few seconds. If you do this 4 times in the first level, you can collect up to 6000 points. Ok, you need really luck to get 4 times 4 enemies but it is helpful to collect more points. You can already have about 40000 points then at the 7th level, which is the hardest one in my opinion. At level 8 the enemies behave "stupid" (but careful, they still sometimes change their patterns unexpected) and you can collect up to 50000 points without difficulties. Difficult is to reach level 8, so the maximum of 50000 is OK in my opinion. fmml Impressive Polar rescue score! Chainsaw Bedlam: 179690 Clean Sweep: 50300

Chainsaw Bedlam: 179690 Clean Sweep: 50300 excellwnt bedlam score! @peer will be dissapointed Chainsaw Looks like we both spent alot of time on clean sweep ..Good tips on values of eating the vacuums maybe I should have read before I was around 38k reaching level 8 and then had to grind it out to get to 50k. fmml good score on polar rescue I think last year my score was around 70k but Brett almost got 100k which takes alot of time but is doable if you avoid conflict and shoot blocks, avoid mines and prioritise docking. Sometimes you can't avoid getting randomly shot before you can avoid the target but sometimes you can be lucky also

Clean Sweep 27830 Star Castle 14280 Yes, had a good run in Polar Rescue. In the end you always die because of "stupid mistakes" so 100k is not impossible. Docking worked good and I hunted the subs. Avoided shooting at rocks and mines for the most part.

A Crush of Lucifer: 71,650 Here's a big hint. When you get to the end of the first area with the pole-like towers and are in the wide open space before the area with the upside down triangles, you can turn hard left or hard right while holding down / back. This allows you to zoom as far left or right as you want so that you can align yourself with Lucifer's portal right before reaching the block zone. In general, holding down / back to slow down is an extremely powerful tool. You can do this anytime you're moving left or right, which significantly reduces your chances of crashing into an object. You can also use this once you're inside of Lucifer's portal, making it a lot easier to get to the end. Currently it's the block zone that consumes the majority of my deaths. Even with the holding back technique, this part is exceedingly difficult. I find it's best to do a diagonal pattern of around 15 grid spaces to the right, and then weaving back towards the center. I haven't found a definitive technique for surviving the block zone yet other than using the braking technique, and trying to avoid the section where there are multiple tight squeezes in a row. By the way, this playthrough took over an hour. I don't know if we are in marathon territory yet. But given the historical significance of A Crush Of Lucifer and the fact that it's currently the deciding factor for first place, I'd say we ought to keep playing it despite the long playtime. After all, these are probably the highest scores ever achieved on this game. And we are plumbing the depths of its gameplay and discovering its secrets. Speaking of which, if anyone discovers a solid strategy for the block zone, I'm all ears. Please note that the turning hard left/ right technique only works right before the triangle zone. This technique does NOT work with the block zone, you will die. I tried turning hard right for 200 squares at the triangle zone and wanted to go hard left 200 squares to completely bypass the block zone. However, the way the block zone is designed is different from the triangle zone. I actually think that the upside down triangle is itself a bit of a clue since that's the actual layout of the level itself, it's an upside down triangle, that's why you're able to do the hard turning technique here. P.S. I'm pretty sure the flickering from this game gives me a headache.

Some of the enemy waves are brutally unfair. For instance, the relentless missile attack which seems designed to take out all your stars. They are spawned in such a way that you've gotta kill them one by one. This often happens extremely early in the game and takes out all 3 of your stars right as you get going. This is incredibly frustrating. Personally I think at least all of the early enemy waves should be arranged in the hexagon shape that matches the Release shield, so that you can take them all out in one shot. Or the enemies should move at different speeds and be designed specifically to form the hexagon shape at some point, so you've gotta time your shots carefully to take them all out at once. I find Release's enemy waves to be unbalanced and punishingly difficult. I love the concept, music and graphics of Release. But I can't get much further than 50k points with its current punishing difficulty level.

Star Castle: 94,400 Here's how to cheese Star Castle. First off, you never move from the starting position. Angle yourself down just beneath the fortress cannon to where your shots are hitting the middle ring (avoid hitting the final ring which is protecting the cannon). Now just shoot endlessly taking out all the shield pieces, as well as enemies as they fly up at you. The majority of the enemies approaching from the bottom will fly right into the trajectory you're already shooting towards. The enemies who approach from the top will generally circle back around and land back on the star castle, OR they will circle in an endless loop until they disappear. So the main threat you need to focus on is the enemies who approach from the middle / straight horizontal from where you're at. For these enemies you need to rotate your ship around and shoot them. A couple of things to keep in mind. Star Castle is a game where you can't shoot more bullets until the existing bullets have left the screen. So when those enemies approach from the center / middle at you, temporarily stop shooting first and then take aim at the approaching enemy. Also be aware that you never want to shoot out a segment of the final ring surrounding the cannon since then you'll die. So be careful when shooting at approaching enemies that you don't shoot the final ring. This technique is very easy and should be an easy 100 points for anyone who wants to put an hour or two into it.

I am hoping to get some time tomorrow or Friday to add the other games to my report and maybe to do halfway decent in something. I have never given Marine Fox much attention so that may be my main focus. I did buy 50000 ad free page views for the forums so those of us with elections going on don't get bombarded by people we don't want to see
