It seems that Fredrik's last Bedlam score did not make it into the last update?

vectrex.malban.de/VW_14/Release_171615.jpgAs a follow up... As in Karl Quappe... you can score "extra" point if you are able to "find" Pacman, Caterpillar and the Ghost. (I wanted to do these "extras" for VB also - but in the end I ran out of memory... gosh - and that with 192kB) In Release there is not much possible in the way to do "extra moves". The "?" give you bonus items... but you can also destroy the "?" like any other object. If you destroy the "?" five times in a row, you will see Pacman, Ten times in a row, you will see the caterpillar... etc... Each consecutive destruction of a "?" rewards more points... by the time your reach e.g. "Pacman 3" - you will get massive points... An example where I was at Caterpillar three (10 minutes gameplay): www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCVRmizMXFIBut I am to old for this now...

Here comes the last scores with the code KIRBY from the Lindberg household. To everyone's surprise she qualified in 9 games when playing Vectrex for the very first time in her life. A natural Vectrex talent it seems. Highscore list has been updated - see initial post. Current top 5 ranking: 1. mozie (600pts) 2. kiwasabi (578pts) 3. Chainsaw (519pts) 4. Peer (517pts) 5. Vorkosigan (510pts) Anna joined the Vector War and has qualified, already. Congratulation! Current score code: "SPYRO". International Play Your Vectrex Day is still on (even in Europe) - make sure to participate, see topic " International Play Your Vectrex Day (Nov. 1)" for more details. ___ Great playing, everyone. Especially the Lindberg family & friends. @ jgkspsx: Thanks, brother, for getting us an adfree forum during the Vector War! @ Anna: Welcome to the Vector War! Cool that you've played and scored in 9 different games, already. @ Måns: You literally dived into Polar Rescue. @ Tony ( fruktodlaren ): Great playing and great more and more friends of the Lindberg family play Vectrex and join the Vector War. Could you please give me an update, who is immune to the wooden spoon prize and who is not? @ Chris (@malban): Thank you very much for playing more and providing us hints for your Release! game. Sure enough, Vector Blade is a master piece but I think so are Release! and Karl Quappe. But I am to old for this now... 464k - obviously not. Now, I'll draw a new sheet with current score code and then it's time to qualify for me...

Great playing, everyone. Especially the Lindberg family and friends. @ Anna: Welcome to the Vector War! @ Måns: You literally dived into Polar Rescue. @ Tony ( fruktodlaren ): Great playing and great more and more friends of the Lindberg family play Vectrex and join the Vector War. Could you please give me an update, who is immune to the wooden spoon prize and who is not? Thanks for the kind words. Måns and Len is grinding Crush of Lucifer as I write this. They really dove into the war this year. It was only a suggestion from my side regarding the spoon. But for me personally it would feel strange if I just had to hand it over to someone in my own household. So my suggestion is that ALL players participating on MY Vectrex can not win the spoon. However, it is up to you as the judge to say if we should be counted when looking for who is second to last. (That means these players: Fruktodlaren, Len, Moyu, Måns and Anna) There are two ways to go about that as I see it. A. We are all invisible when counting places. B. We are counted when looking for who is second to last, but if one of us ARE second to last, you pick the next one up. I am sorry that who will be winning the spoon yet again becomes a controversy thanks to me. I remember we had this discussion before in one way or another.

Astounding scores all round! I may tap out here. I feel I've reached my skill limit in conjunction with current scores which would allow me to progress (I came close to beating my old Thrust score, but if I was first again, it's only an 8 point increase).
I'm quite happy with a place in the top 10. So, since I won't be doing any more Thrust climbing, I may as well drop this big hint:You do not need to save the ball to pass the level. If you shoot the factory 14 times a timer will begin. Leaving the planet after this timer activates, with the ball in tow, will get you a big bonus. Instead of just 2000 for finishing a level, you can get 4000 or sometimes it awards me 4800 even (not sure why this varies). So a good tactic is to shoot the factory 13 times, get the ball, pop one off to start the timer, then escape. However, you can just blow up the factory and leave and move to the next planet. Enemies give you 750 points, and fuel gives you 300, so for levels 4 and 5 I'd just kill all enemies, get all fuel, then detonate the factory. The 4000 bonus would be nice, but not if you lose all your lives. This means I usually hit level 6 with about 6 lives spare, which is essential for that last corridor run. Most levels have lots of enemies and fuel too. Sometimes 6 or 8 enemies, and like 3 or 4 fuel, so you're going to be racking up scores. I reached 61k and level 9 by leaving the ball behind for lots of levels. I consider this a valid tactic since the game does not penalise you. Anyway, let's see if this disrupts the scoring in the last 24 hour stretch!

I was not so healthy today and tired. Tried several games, but no good scores, nothing to put in the score list. Maybe I try later again or tomorrow.
