I was not so healthy today and tired. Tried several games, but no good scores, nothing to put in the score list. Maybe I try later again or tomorrow. Get well soon, Chainsaw, and all the best for you!

Just want to note that the Polar Rescue rom in the rom package doesn't work on my Vecmulti. I found a version I had I think from a previous Vector War that works. The sub seems to crash in immediately on the version in the download. Strange, Justin, that the Polar Rescue binary doesn't work for you. I've just compared the binary with the binaries of previous Vector Wars and they are identical. Does anybody else use the Polar Rescue binary that I packed in the ZIP archive and provided for download? Does it work for you?

FWIW, there are different revisions of the VecMulti, old versions copy the ROM game code into a RAM, run it and it's possible for the game code write to the RAM (which it shouldn't need to do). Newer versions work similarly, but don't let the game write to the RAM used for the ROM. No idea if it's anything to do with the problem you're seeing, but it's possible.

You do not need to save the ball to pass the level. So a good tactic is to shoot the factory 13 times, get the ball, pop one off to start the timer, then escape. However, you can just blow up the factory and leave and move to the next planet. Yep, there's various levels that I skip just for that reason. Makes it easier even though you won't get a bonus in case you have to leave a pod behind. With level 6 though you have no choice, the factory is encased in a corridor and there's no way to enter unless there's some secret I don't know about (I've tried shooting walls over and over throughout the years to nothing). Anyway, let's see if this disrupts the scoring in the last 24 hour stretch! I would if I were playing for V. War, as I played it last night and got 90,000 on it I was on the last level of reverse gravity and *almost* made it out but I lost my last life. Too bad, I could've gotten to invisible landscape and racked up a bunch more ships and continued on for quite a bit. But making it through i. landscape AND reverse gravity and beaten the game? Probably not, I haven't played Thrust in years and haven't practiced much in the last couple of weeks.

Nuts, forgot to address one thing: If you shoot the factory 14 times a timer will begin. Leaving the planet after this timer activates, with the ball in tow, will get you a big bonus. Instead of just 2000 for finishing a level, you can get 4000 or sometimes it awards me 4800 even (not sure why this varies). Difficulty level I'm sure. The early planets aren't worth much, but the more complex ones are.

Some good tips for thrust given here.. makes sense skipping some of the tougher levels. Wondering is there a way to access the factory on 12? You can see in on right of screen with you collect up the orb but can't find a way to access it, unless there's a hidden wall? Thrust 83800

Highscore list has been updated - see initial post. Current top 5 ranking: 1. mozie (600pts) 2. kiwasabi (579pts) 3. Peer (518pts) 4. Vorkosigan (508pts) 5. Chainsaw (508pts) Toph has qualified - congratulations! ___ @ Darryl (@vectorx), John ( Sketcz ): Thanks, Darryl and John for the Thrust hints - this will bring the scores to a new level. @ Chris ( Malban ): Crash in EDIH is bad luck - I looked the video first before reading about the crash and thought that the flashing was the ending when finishing the game. Though, it was the ending when crashing the game.

So this will be my final submissions. I have thoroughly enjoyed this year's VW. The standard of play is way above my skill level, but have enjoyed personal goals I have given myself. Not achieving a perfect run on Pole Position has annoyed me enough to retire from that goal, but I came close. Super fun twitchy driving game. Reminds me of Thundering Turbo (Tomytronic). Release has been the stand out game this year for me. Incredibly addictive. Dangerously so. I just watched Malbans vid and my score jumped 50k after watching and applying his techniques. My new goal is 100k, I will keep on playing Release. Fabulous game. Perfect on the Vectrex. Thanks Helmut for an extremely memorable VW. Pole Position 73900 Release 75123 drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Em7LApbBwVavNzUHceEeVzXwOmrtTCq5Congratulations to the eventual winner, it's tight at the top. Keep at it super players!!!
