Good job Vorkosigan in your last minute come from behind second place victory. You clearly are the best Pole Position player around. I played it for many hours the past couple days and could never match my score of 77,600. Have you figured out what effect the oil slicks have on the score? It seems to me that each oil slick ends up costing about 50 or 100 points each. kiwasabiIn my first Vector Wars XI in 2021 I beat Pole Position with the perfect score of 78000 and I'm not that sure that I didn't hit an oil puddle eventually. There's a chancey part in how many cars are presented in the qualification round. playvectrex analyzed the code of the game and I hope I summarized that correctly from memory. I placed fourth in my first VW, so many congrats to your third place, awesome rookie scores. It was a tough battle for me to finally get in the top three. I'm looking forward to battle with you and all the other Vector Warriors around in next year's VW! š

hcmffmYou seem to be a very rich guy since you are donating that rare and valuable Vectrex Expert badge as a prize (see the picture here: drive.google.com/file/d/18KJ1lJ9UQptp8SnH5sM5T6MJnA437pIg/view?usp=drivesdkš I've remembered reading in VFU about that and the last eBay result where it got sold for a preposterous price in September in the UK. But, to be honest in the past they went for Ā£10 also. š

Sketcz Cool that you took part here. The first part of the Japanese Game Devoloper series is in my bookshelf and I admired your commitment and the effort you put into the book and the retrogaming community.

fruktodlaren I remember well, how you beat me in my second Vector War for the third place with - among other things- your expertise in VeCaves and Spike gets squished. š
Ah yes, my magnum opus in vector gaming. The stars were truly aligned then. I had scores in three games that were mostly uncontended in the end. That VeCaves score was the first score I submitted and it lasted the whole competition. Not even I could beat my own score there. Spike gets Squished was another big favourite of mine as I do love maze games. In Starhawk, I pieced together a strategy by reading between the lines in the manual. It hinted at that you could completely omit aiming at a certain type of enemy as it was basically worthless in comparison to the other enemy types. That way you racked up points enough for extra lives at a faster pace. Before that time I had placed 9th as best, and in this war I ended up at 11th place. I CAN still be dangerous, but it has to be in "my" kind of games. I will gladly fight against you tooth and nail next year again.

Yeahhh, did you know, that I always look with one eye on that wooden spoon prize? I just like this thing. Don't wonder, if anytime in the future, I will only achieve low points and stay on the lower rankings ;-) But sure, the other prizes are also always awesome great.

Yeahhh, did you know, that I always look with one eye on that wooden spoon prize? Hehe, there are many who have BOTH eyes on the Spoon Now imagine what hell of competition would break loose if next time the Spoon were to be awarded to the winner of the tournament

Next year: Vector War XV - The spoon special edition. 3rd prize: 18 carat gold spoon 2nd prize: Aluminium spoon, crafted by Tony 1st prize: The famous wooden spoon. Peer, your job is now, that one of your students in 2025 has to code some kind of Spoon game for the Vectrex... I'm sorry, when I'm tired, I produce such "nonsense"

I will suggest a spoon game, and maybe one student will pick up that idea.

The Spoon game could be fun and is a good idea.
What is on my mind for some years: A Prize lottery game for the Vectrex which allows for performing the prize lottery of the Vector War. Uploading all parameters (names or at least three letter acronyms of all potential winners and number of prizes) might be a challenge, though. But perhaps this could be achieved by compiling a software for each Vector War. Just an idea...

The metal cartridge and the spoon have been packed and prepared for their respective journey. However, some tests at the hospital came in between. I aim to have them shipped by Monday 11 Nov. Sorry for the delay.

Sorry for the delay. There are more important things in life than sending out prizes. Take your time, Tony, and fingers crossed for good test results.

hcmffm Just to make sure besides my pm: Please exclude Zuko and Toph from the lottery. Toph won the Spoon, my wife Zuko played one time for fun and I've got a prize as second placed player. We are more than blessed in this VW. š
Good luck to all the other tough Vector Warriors for the lottery.
