Wow, never heard of the Passport magazine before!
Is it just like the regular Passport, just in a bigger format, or is there new stuff to it?

Check it out for yourself! I had a home-printed mini one...until now! I love the magazine, it introduces Vecto, the interview with John Hall is cool and mentions Dark Tower being released, and it's the ONLY issue, distributed to Vectrex Club Members...super rare, especially in this good of condition. You know I'm happy right now www.playvectrex.com/preserves/passport/passport_f.htm

I actually spoke with John Hall in the late 80s. Very cool guy, and actually happy to talk about his Vectrex memories. He said that they were working on several titles (including Dark Tower of course) and that one day it simply was over and that was it. The one cool bit of info he had was regarding the Dark Tower games. There were potentially going to be 3 Dark Tower games, and they were experimenting with the idea of having the subsequent cartridges work as add-ons to the first one in that they would plug into each other to make a giant cartridge! Not sure how far that idea got, but interesting nonetheless.

^Sigh, thanks for depressing me there, of yet ANOTHER thing the Vectrex would've been ahead of its time on! Wow, lock-on carts...plus three games in that series. Did he elaborate on what the others might've held?

No, he went into details about the first Dark Tower game because it was completed. The expandable cartridge idea was something he threw at me at the end of the call. It was like, "Oh and one more thing..." It's possible that it was an idea that they had already done away with too. At the time he also hinted at the possibility that new Vectrex releases could still be released. Looking back on it maybe he had found out about the handheld Vectrex that was being contemplated, not sure.

UPDATE: Aha! I found this comic to go along with the Translation. Now it begs the question, what is that other piece (with the kid in the hat), Martijn? I'll email him at some point and ask, if he doesn't respond here. www.atarihq.com/vectrex/fr-vectrex-ad.jpg

Ads such as that are probably what I'll include submission wise for the Vectrex collecting gig heh. Just because they are such curious oddities of their own era.

Oh yeah... and in the spirit of the thread itself, I suppose I should really get some up to date photos taken of what I own. What don't I own?! Mr Boston, that's about it heh...
