It's annoying when someone puts up one of the old Vectrex commercials with the crappy quality over and over again like they were the first one to do it.
Well, someone put up one I hadn't seen before (for once!). I never knew a celebrity endorsed it. (I assume this was some professional race driver?)
Ha ha, right in there with a Powers of Matthew Starr promo. I saw a few episodes of that one, it sucked! (Oh, and never mind the car commercial at the beginning, as it'll get to the Vectrex, I promise!)

Cool commercial. I haven't seen many Vectrex commercials before so it is nice to see how the advertised the console.

This is the only Vectrex commercial I remember seeing. I don't know if anyone else remembers seeing Jackie Stewart on some Vectrex in-store displays? I do! The thing with Vectrex was that it came and went so darn quickly! I remember seeing the tv commercial, for example, and not too much later finding out that it was all over....or was it? Thank you John Dondzila

I don't know if anyone else remembers seeing Jackie Stewart on some Vectrex in-store displays? Good lord, does anyone have one of those? Occasionally there are posts, even e-bay sales of the store kiosks from time to time, but I've never heard of anyone having one of those. I just wish someone had that segment on the NBC Nightly News (or whatever network broadcast it) in regards to a few of the Vectrex programmers. There's no video of that up anywhere, to the best of my knowledge

As I remember it, the Jackie Stewart display was an add-on to the store "kiosks" or whatever they were called. I used to buy my games from The Federated Group (anybody remember that?!), Fedco, Toys R' Us, and through the mail from Triton/Electronics Direct. The Federated Group and Fedco were the only places where I saw an actual Vectrex display kiosk. Both chains long gone. www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9zo5k8Turgen.wikipedia.org/wiki/FedcoScroll down the Wikipedia link for the Cerritos store photo. That was my store! Looks great, doesn't it? Always got Gemco and Fedco mixed up!

Yeah I think the Fedco photo is from right when they shut it down in '99 and the place looked terrible. It was actually cool looking in the 80's. It's now a gigantic Super Target.
And that's Shadoe Stevens of course in the Federated ads, as Fred Rated. He now does the announcing for the Craig Ferguson show.

I'm guessing Mr. Stewart was given a Vectrex or three as a result of promoting the product. I wonder if they are still in his or his families possession...

You've also gotta love the NFL films music on the AMC Eagle commercial...
