Sure thing, glip. The posts of the Aussies are really a nice and funny surprise. Yep. I think the Vectrex barely sold squat over there. Give the international PYVD a really international touch. Perhaps Japan joins in next year? ;-) I've always wanted to meet a Japanese person that had a Vectrex. Sadly, I've never seen one on any kind of gaming forums (although I suppose there are ones on Japanese gaming forums, but I only can read English).

I only had a chance to play one game of Armor Attack to mark this day However, my Vectrex mate KosmikVector took the International Play Your Vectrex Day very seriously. He scored 70,000+ on Protector, and on the same day got his second Vectrex related tattoo. Some might recall that for the 2012 Play Your Vectrex Day he go a tattoo of the Vectrex console on his leg. Well this year he went for a Tattoo of the Mine Storm ship:

Yeah, I thought that was insane! Although I'm a bit let down in that I said last year that in order to top himself this year he'd have to have a Vectrex surgically implanted into his body Anyway, I'll have some totals/notes (observations) probably tomorrow, as there were still three additions to the page today, so some people are still trickling in information.

No, they can be done all year around, just as long as you made those scores on the first!

I'll be adding (most of) the following trivia by tomorrow: *At least 37 games were played, and they were practically a tie: 19 from the original lineup, whereas 18 were homebrews. Unofficially 38 games were played, as there were two mentions of the Light Pen, but it wasn't mentioned which animation program was used (I don't mean Melody Master, that was counted). *The top original-released GCE games included Mine Storm for the second year in a row (with 10 players, hitting double digits!), Solar Quest, Star Hawk, and Fortress of Narzod with four each, and rounding out third place included Armor Attack, Scramble and Pole Position, each with three. The top three homebrews included Protector with four, Y*A*S*I* with three (making that an easy one, being on the same cart), and Bloxorz with two. *An interesting (or maybe only to me ) rise and fall: Star Hawk had two players last year, but four this year. Vector Pilot had four players last year, but only one this year (my guess because it was newer then). *Just like with last year, Birds of Prey and Trakkers had one player each time. (Vectopia is a cart that doesn't really come up in conversation, even around here, but I supposed that's because the majority of its content are demos.) *There were quite a few "firsts" this time around (even though the Vectrex Day is still new): two people (50TBRD + one other) played games with their own, custom-built controllers. 50TBRD also played with a custom overlay. Two people had calendars involved in their photos (Chainsaw and jfmateos [hey, great-looking family!]). A four second exposure was used for a Mine Storm pic, which looked cool, there were seven Vectrexes in another shot, and someone hooked up a Vectrex to an oscilloscope in one photo. I also supplied the alien forces shot on a later version of Mine Storm, and Guddler has showed some kind of “dev(elopment) work” with a Space Invader-like figure on his Vectrex (whatever that's about). Of course, Mayhem had the surprise Vector Patrol beta running on a Japanese Vectrex, and for some reason three demos were played (as opposed to none last year), being Vec Fu, Vector Patrol and Bloxorz. *KosmikVector followed up the previous year’s Day with getting another Vectrex tattoo (how many tattoos does this guy have anyway?). *And last but certainly not least, a very funny post from RF Generation (caps theirs): As someone who doesn't own a Vectrex, here is my Bil-O-Meter rating on this "International Play Your Vectrex Day" thing: OH SURE JUST SHOVE IT IN THE FACES OF THE HAVE-NOTS YOU ELITIST B@ST@RDS WHY DONT YOU JUST TAKE YOUR FAVORITE VECTREX GAME CARTRIDGE AND CHOKE TO DEATH ON IT YOU SCUMB@GS DIE DIE DIE DIE FRICKIN' DIE A SLOW PAINFUL DEATH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HOPEFULLY WITH CANCER OR AIDS OKAY MAYBE NOT AIDS BUT DEFINITELY CANCER CUZ THATS WHAT YOU DESERVE* *Rating subject to change in the event the rater acquires a Vectrex of his own

That invader is just a little hello world type thing I knocked up when I was starting to get to grips with some programming on the vectrex (and I still am). I followed instructions for coding in C from Frank Buss (don't know if I can link to his site?). He had 'Hello Retrochallenge' moving from side to side, I just modified it to be a space invader: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsdrZlEPg9oI'm building my own development interface so I can transfer files wirelessly between computer and console and I needed something to put in as a boot rom. So that was what I used (it's only very small). And of course international play your vertex day crops up while I'm in the middle of it all so I figured I'd snap a photo while i was at it

Thanks for some info on your creation I followed instructions for coding in C from Frank Buss (don't know if I can link to his site?). Yes, it's not a problem. I'm building my own development interface so I can transfer files wirelessly between computer and console and I needed something to put in as a boot rom. So that was what I used (it's only very small). Sounds like you and kokovec on here would have quite a bit to talk about. He's built several things that interface with the Vectrex. And of course international play your vertex day crops up while I'm in the middle of it all so I figured I'd snap a photo while i was at it So it was good timing then! Oh, and I can't BELIEVE I forgot the most important tidbit of all in regards to trivia from the other day: *We had one additional player from last year, making the total 25 (it looks like there were fewer players then that, but four of them made up the one entry from the Australian team).

I also just realized nine more games were played as compared to last year's Day, which is also good. And thanks to all those that participated and posted about it on other forums, blogs, etc. as well.

You're welcome Looking to add the trivia today, finally. Also, is the person who registered the domains of vectrexday and ipyvd (which both lead to the same site) going to add anything? Because that was one last trivia note I was going to add, as right now I don't know when or if they're going to be updated with content.

Perhaps an nice idea to add a prize to, for instance, point 2. under section 'Bonuses' as an extra incentive for the most original contribution? If you like the idea, I'd like to donate 'Moonlander' a homebrew by Clay Cowgill Is this still a go, by the way?
