Hey, that's a nice idea I'll give it some thought and then check with Wikia about it. They might have something against contests, but I can find out.

I decided to go ahead with this and shot Wikia an e-mail, but unfortunately only they can hold contests, and not individual wikis of theirs.

I would say that there could be a technicality there though, as perhaps dgo could just offer the cartridge *individually*, and not have it posted on the site. However, due to Proboards also being involved if we were to try such a thing, that could make things complicated, and if I were to get on anyone's bad side in the Vectrex community, they could contact Wikia and/or Proboards and get me in trouble.

So, unless there's some legal genius here in our midst to figure out how to pull this off, it could just possibly leave dgo as to offering it in the trades section instead.

Nice, we were talking about this over at Atariage wasn't sure if you guys were doing it this year or not. I went ahead and threw up a page at vectrexday.com and ipyvd.com planned on adding info to it, streams, etc. Anyway I definitely plan on participating in it this year

Also, there's been an addition to the rules: I saw on another forum where someone asked if it would count if they could play in emulation. No, it's a play your VECTREX day, NOT a fake Vectrex! Even someone last year couldn't count, as they had a Vectrex, but no controller for it.

However, I thought, "hey, there's an Honorable mentions section on the wiki page", so I added to that section, that if people played on an emulator or the Regeneration App (actually I'll include the latter the next time I edit the page), they could put it there, although it wouldn't count on the regular totals section for those of us who will actually be playing on a real Vectrex.

Wow this date is really sneaking up. Although I have been greatly distracted by my new 3DS lately, I will be sure to tend to my Vectrex this day.

Regarding the legal question: I can't imagine that this minor transgression would warrant the attention of the Wiki people.

No, but you never know if you piss someone off and then turn against you and report it. But the cart is just being offered by an individual anyway, since, if it were a wiki contest, the info would be up on the page already.
