Looking for a good Vectrex

Hi there,

I am looking for a good condition Vectrex. I have missed a few on EBay but most sell for inflated prices. Does anyone have one they want to sell or know where to look? I will pay a reasonable price but it must be in good working order. I live in the Midlands if it helps to collect.

I think eBay is as good a place as any. What's inflated? I reckon 80 - 100 quid is reasonable if you're not bothered about a box and all the poly inserts. I know 'Retrogames' usually have one or two but you'll pay dealer prices and they only offer a 3 month warranty and to be honest, the ones I've seen from them (although I've not been on their site for a while), are not generally 'pristine'.

My advice would be if you see a decent one on ebay think 'maximum price' then add 30 quid. You'd kick yourself if you missed it... and they won't be around for ever.

Oh, and try to collect it so you can test it first.

I'm further down south, but neither of my two UK Vectrex units are for sale. Prices have come down in the last few years at least, and you can easily get one for 75 quid now I reckon. Just have to keep eyes open on eBay, and if possible, test and collect before purchase.

Thanks for your replies. I will keep looking then. I thought I had found a local one on EBay this morning but it is from a smoker which would not interest me. I will keep searching.

Smoking's bad, especially if it's an entire house for sale (stay away from those unless you're a smoker yourself, by the way...tar is very hard to get out of a house).
