It Works.
Excellent feeling when you get that. For me it was the alternate Analog controller for the Vectrex using all of the originally specified types of components against the Service Manual.
Number 1. The Analog stick. Cue music, and the well scavenged analog joystick from a PS1 Dual-Shock Analog controller! (rev b) -- its compatible -- and 10k-ohms too!!
{Rev a was not a dual shock controller, it was the Dual Analog Stick controller, with No rumble, and the push-button option to make it Flight-Stick analog control compatible. -longer handles-}
Number 2. 10K analog trim pots that really worked. I started off with the 10K pot used from an Arduino student pack. -JUNK!- so I got really good rim pots -not multi-turn--just good trim- from Sayal Electronics in Toronto. (soon to be reloacated to Markham)
Number 3. Push-button Normally-Open switches. I got 3 kinds. And let me say this, I now know why all game MFG uses carbon contact PCB-type switches for this purpose. They last a Heck of a lot longer than the itty-bitty momentary contact microcontroller switches I chose... (500 repetitions, and FAIL!)
Sega Genesis 9-pin connector cable. Rasm-Frasm, not the easiest thing to solder; time for me to get another and De-Solder the circuit-board connector pins as-is and use that.
4.7k-ohm resistor was actually the most frustrating. I had just one (1) in my chest of drawers... Got that at Sayal too.
No Images as yet, maybe I'll hold off for that until I upload to youtube. But I need to re-solder the yellow wire that goes to Pin-4 first. -- I broke it playing Scramble for the first time in 6 years!!!
