NO!!! The Video Game Critic likes Zantis! Nice review: videogamecritic.net/vecmz.htm?ext=19157#ZantisI'll add his grade to my next site update. What's funny is he contacted me about purchasing another game AFTER he reviewed I, Cyborg, and I was thinking...do I really want to send him another one of my games?? Remember he gave I, Cyborg a lower grade than War of the Robots! So I sent him a follow-up email: 1) You will think Sectis is too hard, don't buy it. 2) Please try the arcade versions of WOTW and Sundance. Buy these games only if you like the arcade versions. 3) Zantis - probably my easiest, simplest game. Feels like an arcade remake, good for all ages. I guess I sold him Zantis with that email

NO!!! The Video Game Critic likes Zantis! Oh, crap. Well, it's been nice knowing everyone, fun doing these forums and the wiki, but if he likes one of George's games then I guess that means the end of the world in December IS actually going to happen! (dammit) What's funny is he contacted me about purchasing another game AFTER he reviewed I, Cyborg, and I was thinking...do I really want to send him another one of my games?? Did you want his money or not? That's the real question 1) You will think Sectis is too hard, don't buy it. Yeah, I've only imagined what his review for that would be! "What the hell is going on here? Why do these things attach themselves to your ship instantly? This is too hard to be enjoyable, although original." (D)

What I didn't want was another D grade, especially on anything more recent! I can handle a C, but after two D's in a row no way did I want to see another low score on his site!

Well, I've noticed a pattern with VGC where he downgrades games if they are difficult or have a steep learning curve. When I saw he had reviewed Zantis I wasn't sure what to expect. I was also surprised by the grade but given the game isn't as complex, it makes sense!

Ha ha. Just silly. I, Cyborg is a great achievement. I remember when you referred to his review in the past and I went and read it. (Just now re-read it). I don't think the review itself is terribly unfair, as he acknowledges some of its attributes and he also makes it pretty clear to readers that he didn't actually play through the game much at all. But the 'D' grade is just an outrage.
I definitely agree you should not let him get his hands on Sectis. Was nice of you to sell him Zantis as you did.
... I'm about to pop in WotW for the first time!
Then I will scoot across town to commence some horrifying masonry repairs on my house, while we have some unusually warm weather here. ...WotW will get a real play later tonight.

But the 'D' grade is just an outrage. Same with giving Heart of the Alien for the Sega CD (which he just put up as well) an F. That's nonsense. The unfair kills is just for the sequel; the original (which is included) didn't have as many. That was a stellar game, and it wasn't ruined; the controls were made a little worse from the original and the music was changed, but that was it. He seems to ignore that. Two challenging puzzle games with a story such as that an F? No way, yet he gives mindless FMV games (like Night Trap) a better grade (some even for the same system!).
