After over 10 years (!), I finally got this game the other week. FINALLY there will be a full entry on the Vectrex wiki for it in the coming weeks too, as that was one of the earlier "stub" pages ever for the wiki. Anyone else on this forum that have seen the cutscene? I don't have a video for the end but will eventually when I get a recorder and a tripod, as I just beat the game this morning. I kept on getting stuck at the end of level 17 at like 47,700 something; if I'd just made 48,000 I'd get another ship! Anyway, one thing that surprised me was when you get to level 20, onscreen it states "Level twenty -- to infinity and beyond!", I think. Have to get there again to confirm. Once you beat it it says "Incoming message: mission accomplished. The galaxy is clean from the aliens. You are the supreme Vectrexian. Now is the time to return back home. Coming soon Vector Pilot." It also states programmed by Kristof and gives the usual thanks to several prominent Vectrex people, such as Chris Romero. As like with the startup cutscene, your ship becomes 3-D as it moves from the bottom of the screen to about the middle, twisting in the process, then it warps offscreen. And what are your highscores? I got 60,000 something. |

Wow! And I thought Fury took a long time to deliver. Bah ha ha! By the way, once I beat the game again I figured I'd take some photos of the ending sequence (starting with the level 20 onscreen text surprise) and send them in to VectrexMad. I don't think his site has anything up like that and, with no one else having a video of even part of the end sequence like Wizdawg had, should be something few Vectrexians have ever seen. Have to do until I can get a video camera. Probably not all pics will come out though, as with the ship spinning part of the cutscene it'll probably come out blurry but I'll see what I can do. But first I need to stop being so damn snakebit about it all  I thought with my beating the game I could just do it again, as the difficulty level seemed to top out at level 17. But I spent all this time playing it yesterday and never could get past level 15. I only had the chance to play one game today and made it to 18 though, so hopefully I'll beat it again. Might not have much of a chance to play a bit again until tomorrow though but I'll see. |

I´m actually surprised of how much I love this game. I was expecting to play Vector Pilot a lot more. Sometimes you can be surprised. Even with as much as I love Space Invader-type games, I figured that, once I got Vecmania, I'd just play the Vector Vaders Remix a few times and that'd be it. Surprisingly I played it just as much as all the other games on there (i. e. a lot!). Haha l took along time for me to respond! my high score is only 35,320 on vectrexian |

VectrexMad is in the middle of refurbishing his old house as he moves into a new one so who knows when his site will be updated with Vectrex news (probably tomorrow and I'll have to delete the photos and remove the links here, ha haaaa). Until then, just click on the links to see a bit of the end of Vectrexians. Photo 1: This was a surprise message that I didn’t even know would show up once you make it to level 20. Photo 2Photo 3: Oh good, I hate a dirty galaxy! Photo 4: HEY! If the Vectrex says so it must be true! Photo 5Photo 6: As I’m sure you can tell by this static photo (yeah, right), your ship twists and turns in 3-D... Final photo: Then a wormhole opens up and you warp home...or fly into a giant asterisk and die (whee!). Here is the full text before the brief movie is shown: "Incoming message. Mission accomplished! The galaxy is cleaned from the aliens.. You are the supreme Vectrexian! Now is the time to return back home." It also states that it was programmed by Kristof Tuts, gives thanks to several Vectrex alumni (such as Mark Shaker and Chris Romero), then "coming soon: Vector Pilot". |
