Among other things/reasons why this would have been good, we could have one or more of these on our trees and/or next to our real Vectrexes in our [game] rooms!
Wouldn't that be killer? The very familiar notes to Mine Storm and seeing it all lit up, although I don't know if imitation miniature vector graphics would have been doable. After all, it'd beat an imitation Atari 2600, since a tv would have to be included with that too!

Ha, I have seen some PLAYABLE mini cabinets (on youtube etc.) that were not much bigger than these ornaments. ... Would certainly be sweet to have a real vector graphics one of those! (and miniature overlays to match!).
... The mini-cabs were made with smart phones inside for the screen, which obviously is not a vector display, and also is much smaller and more appropriately shaped than any existing vector monitor. ... Still the SCREEN size of most available x/y oscilloscopes is pretty small, and it does seem that a mini-vectrex screen (if not mini-cabinet to scale) would be more doable than the giant vectrex display we have discussed in the past.
... I wonder if the graphics of the existing games would translate acceptably to a tiny display though?
... Just with these sound and lights though as ornaments, a Vectrex one indeed would be awesome, and I bet someone could make a very clever imitation of a game screen. Could involve two overlays. One would be black and opaque with just thin portions cut out for the game graphics. Then a mini-translucent imitation overlay could sit in front of it. Super bright LED (perhaps surrounded by reflectors) would be behind the opaque overlay, powering the 'vector display'. ... Again though, maybe too small of a screen to be practical.

Hmm, I wonder how open Hallmark would be to making a Vectrex ornament...
