I am sorry to do this Darryl, but the reality is that George is not responding to my personal emails. I feel slighted by his last post, and have some last points to make.
To start:
I understand this. But with a community as small as ours, are we truly business partners? With that notion, what place does camaraderie hold in our 'community'? Alienating what few 'customers' you have doesn't seem like good business practice. Nor is it a good way to get along with 'friends'.
Thanks man. I'm not too worried though.
Given the misinterpretations, maybe Fury can reconsider Desfeek back into the purchase list, as Desfeek is but a young Vectrexian and I wouldn't want to dampen his enthusiam for the Vectrex world.
Hopefully, communication by private email between Fury and Desfeek is still possible and will result in an agreeable solution.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, VecMad! I think your analysis of the situation is spot-on, and I wish you were here sooner! However, don't expect this small hurdle to dampen my love for the one and only Vectrex. It may, however, make me consider Fury products to be unworthy of my time and money, and unnecessary for a "complete" collection.
Warning: This post gets long. If your name isn't George Pelonis, I only posted this because I think it deserves to be seen.
This is...the worst customer service line I have ever seen. Have you ever worked with the public?
Put yourself in my shoes. I moved back home and switched schools this year, after my roommate killed himself. I have massive student loans, no degree, in a job market that is absolutely futile. I have expensive hobbies, to be sure, and that requires an incredibly fine economical dance.
That's strange, because we have had two past transactions. Plus numerous forum exchanges. I feel I am acquainted with you. If this was about the money, why would I have stated explicitly that I did not want a refund? Sure, money is tight, and that requires checking on the places my money is.
You know which response would have sufficed? A simple, "I'm working on it". What exactly were you expecting me to do? Take my money back and say thanks? You basically just took my $200 loan for almost two years and returned it without even so much as a thanks. Why? Because you don't have time to deal with me and wanted to "get rid" of me?
It is, now.
The problem began when you refunded my money. You want to ignore me, and I am not allowing you to. I did not want to start trouble, but you are forcing my hand.
You alluded to the idea when you asked if it were surprising or not that I didn't post my email.
I sent this email at 1:42pm today:
George,
I am heading to a job interview and then class. I will be home by
8:30pm. If you are willing to receive over $200, I am still willing
to pay you for your amazing Vectrex projects.
I do not see what is so confusing, but I now politely retract my offer.
I was a little angry, because I didn't think Glip (a member who I referred here, and have had a pleasant transaction with) understood the brunt of the issue. I compared other developers because Glip did. Read his post. It is actually quite easy to compare business practices. Maybe it would be beneficial to you to release one, super quality game every year.
I can't wait for the day!
Obviously, you have little empathy for low-income people, and for that, I am jealous. However, as I have previously stated, my original email was clearly not at all asking for a refund. Therefore, this really isn't about it being a financial issue. You seeing any comedy in the matter is a reflection of your personality and your personal disposition.

AHEM - Once again, I apologize wholeheartedly to Darryl. I know you do not want this sort of drama here, and I really am sorry for bringing it. It's just that it IS Vecrex related, and I didn't really have anywhere else to go with this issue. On my end, I do not care about these items anymore. I have my money, everything is fine. I'll get them someday if I truly desire them.

To start:
You're kind of a partner in a very special business venture (which is really not commercially viable) and the end product is a very exclusive niche.
I understand this. But with a community as small as ours, are we truly business partners? With that notion, what place does camaraderie hold in our 'community'? Alienating what few 'customers' you have doesn't seem like good business practice. Nor is it a good way to get along with 'friends'.
It really sucks that you lost your place on the items you were waiting for. I'm sorry that was the outcome.
Thanks man. I'm not too worried though.
I can see how Desfeek's use of language in his email to Fury could be misinterpreted especially if Fury had just spent a night toiling away to produce items for the hungary Vectrex community. I can also see that Desfeek's language was not full of malice and he was trying to be construtive but to the point of not knowing the full story and about all of Fury's activities which are happening invisibly in the background. I can also feel for Desfeek for loosing out on his purchases.
Given the misinterpretations, maybe Fury can reconsider Desfeek back into the purchase list, as Desfeek is but a young Vectrexian and I wouldn't want to dampen his enthusiam for the Vectrex world.

Desfeek, I didn't refund you to be spiteful, I refunded you to get rid of you.

I don't know who you are, and what your motivation is other than what you put in the email. I don't know if you're financially strapped or not.
That's strange, because we have had two past transactions. Plus numerous forum exchanges. I feel I am acquainted with you. If this was about the money, why would I have stated explicitly that I did not want a refund? Sure, money is tight, and that requires checking on the places my money is.
It was much easier for me to refund you, than to spend 15 minutes answering your demanding email, and then any subsequent emails. I don't have time for it, but you've managed to get me typing anyway.
You know which response would have sufficed? A simple, "I'm working on it". What exactly were you expecting me to do? Take my money back and say thanks? This thread you've started does seem spiteful.
It is, now.
You started it after the problem was resolved. You had your money, but you wanted to cause trouble.
The problem began when you refunded my money. You want to ignore me, and I am not allowing you to. I did not want to start trouble, but you are forcing my hand.
I never said it was a horrible email, but the way you presented yourself as "reaching out" at the beginning of this thread was really ridiculous.
You alluded to the idea when you asked if it were surprising or not that I didn't post my email.
Now I see you've sent me another private email offering to buy it all back. I'm confused by all of this.

You seem very angry in your subsequent exchange with gliptitude. Why you're comparing other developers, I don't know. Kristof is great, and there was a time when I released one game every year or so, and it's much easier to keep up with the orders. His output is far less than mine, so it's hard to compare.

Madtronix is a nice guy too. Last I heard he was going to return to the scene.
I can't wait for the day!
Anyway, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic about the money being your livelihood or not. If it is true, then that is exactly why I refunded you as we've already discussed.
