I just got today Mickey Mouse Panorama Game & Watch which completes my collection of 59/59 original G&W boxed complete! Been a bit of a sprint to the finish in the end getting Flagman, DK Circus and Mickey Panorama in quick succession. I'll keep my eye out for better boxes for 2 or 3 but largely I'm really happy, my aim being to get C7 or above. I made an unboxing video of the last game and a quick vid of the whole collection... youtu.be/fiAyOE-o8xcyoutu.be/utU0QvR8Wps

Very impressed by so emblematic boxed collection I always thought G&W serie was the best Nintendo thing of ever. They were the germ of GameBoy, and likely the GB project was possible by using the sales benefits of these. Well done, Chris, you own a real (and complete) piece of history

I just got today Mickey Mouse Panorama Game & Watch which completes my collection of 59/59 original G&W boxed complete! Having access to the complete lineup, can you tell us which are the best or your personal favorites? I always wondered about the micro vs systems. Are they as cool as they look? Also i don't think i've ever played a Panorama screen. I always thought G&W serie was the best Nintendo thing of ever. They were the germ of GameBoy, and likely the GB project was possible by using the sales benefits of these. I remember reading somewhere recently that the Game Boy was the combined result of what Nintendo learned with the Game & Watch and with the NES. For some reason the connection never occurred to me, but it helps explain why they went with the LCD display. .. It's really interesting to me how Nintendo recalls ideas and novelties from their past, sometimes in spite of great odds. Stereo 3D,(early NES, Virtual Boy), motion controls, (NES ROBB), and monochrome graphics are all things they've experimented with with questionable success, only to reprise later with amazing (and UN-questionable) success.

Now i have an all around solid VCS! You might not be able to tell from the photo but this console is super clean and fresh. The mods are perfectly clean too. Pause button: .. But now I need a CRT with stereo input: .. I've heard of homebrew 2600 games that use stereo sound in deliberate ways, but I didn't imagine that old games would actually have two seperate audio signals. On This TV I have to choose between being able to hear myself fire or being able to hear the explosions in Yar's Revenge.

At first congrats by your new Atari toy! This one is and always will be the best and dearest of the console-grannies I remember reading somewhere recently that the Game Boy was the combined result of what Nintendo learned with the Game & Watch and with the NES. For some reason the connection never occurred to me, but it helps explain why they went with the LCD display. I had the DonkeyKong G&W by 82, and my brother and all the family got millions of gameplay hours. But my father bought a ZX Spectrum very few time after, and no more Nintendo stuff for us since then... Only recently, I begin to gather a curious G&W-GameBoy hybrid concept: the Nintendo Mini Classics. Officially licensed by Nintendo. And shaped like a little GameBoy key chain. Long life to the LCD!

I've got my hands on some pretty cool stuff the past 30 days, not to mention getting my order in for Nox/Death Chase. I already commented about Warrior in the Vectrex threads. I also got my copy of the brand new NES game Owlia. Plus two high quality 2600 joysticks I've wanted for a long time, both in really top notch condition. .. The Competition Pro is a reproduction from a few years ago. The MBX Joystick is not something I'm holding on to, but it is a pretty excellent novelty I had been wanting to have a look at. .. I thought that being an analog stick with 4 buttons made by MB might mean it had a lot in common with the Vectrex controller, but it doesn't.

I always thought the Slik stiks and Tac 2s were nice controllers.

I always thought the Slik stiks and Tac 2s were nice controllers. I actually got a Slik Stik recently too but I didn't mention it because it doesn't work properly. I definitely liked the smaller size of it better than these others and it was easier to hold comfortably, but I guess the one I got was too worn out. .. The Tac-2 and Comp Pro are both reputed to be very DURABLE. They're not my favorite joysticks to play with but they are both very reliable. That is NOT the norm for Atari joysticks.

I could do something with that Slik Stik for you. I modified an Atari Bat a while ago.

I think there's a Wico controller people refer to as the bat, with a big red stick shaped like a baseball bat.
.. Tony what could you do with the Slik Stik? I haven't opened mine up because the screws take a square shaped bit that I don't have. But I think I remember looking at pictures of one opened up and recognizing the switch types as a type that I have seen jam badly in other joysticks.

Yes. It was made by WICO. I did one for fun and would still like to show that one can be modified fairly easily.
I could probably fix it, or modify it so it will work, though I'd only be able to test it with a multimeter and not on hardware. I could also probably make it work for the Vectrex. I
