Controller cord coil variations

Howdy-

I got a Vectrex controller the other day that has a cord different from all others that I've seen.

It's coil diameter is much larger, the coils aren't stacked as tightly, & the black insulation might even be a tad bigger (I didn't check this dimension closely.).


Anybody seen these? Later rev? Early rev? Rarer (seems to be, based on my experience)?

Definitely longer and odd. Never seen this one before.

I've seen it but always assumed it was from stretching.

I don't know about longer overall, but the diameter & spacing of the coils are quite different.

It's completely uniform along the length of the cord, so it doesn't look like stretching--I don't think that stretching would increase the coil diameter anyway...

It still packs up & fits just fine when snapping the controller to the console.

Weird.
