Vectrex prototype cartridge listed on ebay. ... I don't suppose this is any different than the commonly available Dark Tower ROM, but the seller says in the item description that he has 3 other prototypes that he will be listing based on the interest in this one. He/she claims to have gotten these from a friend who worked for MB years ago. www.ebay.com/itm/321237493669?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649I wonder if the others are similar (already available in ROM form), ... or if they are completely awesome grails like Pole Position 3D or Art Master 2? ... If so, I hope they fall into the right hands and see a ROM dump distributed.

Yeah, one that the awesomegamr posted about turned out just to be a modern day reproduction by Dondzila. At least this one has handwritten stuff on the boards though (but of course, that could be faked).

At least this one has handwritten stuff on the boards though (but of course, that could be faked). Yeah of course I can't say for sure it is authentic, (and in of itself a Dark Tower cart is not that interesting to me), but I'm only anticipating the possibility of something I have NOT seen before coming from this seller in the future. ... Aside from the hand written labels that you mention, this PCB appears to have THREE chips on it. I do not know of any reason for a modern reproduction of Dark Tower to have more than one chip, (EEPROM or whatever it is). All of the games that I have bought from Dondzila, as well as those I have bought from Fury have only ONE. ... Never opened up my one TutsTronics cart, but I don't think that bank switching is a factor, as my Gravitrex Plus also has only one.

Yeah I've seen many Atari protos like that too, all having several chips on them as well.

Dark Tower was supposedly going to be 12k, so 3 x 4k chips would seem legit.

Opening bid has been lowered to $995. Previously was $1250 I think.
I just sent seller a message asking what his other prototypes are.
... Also I looked through his history as a seller. There was not a lot there, and very little recent activity. But I did notice that he has sold a lot of Hero Quest items,(over the course of years) which was a MB game. One that I saw was listed as mint condition. .. So this would seem to square with his story of having a MB friend in the past, and testing products.
On the other hand, if he was simply someone who played this game a lot in the past, it could explain how he knows about Dark Tower, and might have ability to forge it. I don't see anything anywhere near this valuable in his history. .. Revealing the other games that he claims to have would seem like a better proof, depending on what they are.

I'm pretty much a layman in electronics but this prototype looks genuine to me. Would be good to know where the seller got this prototype from and which other prototypes he has. Thanks for contacting the seller, glip, please let us know once you received an anser.
