I've contacted the ebay seller "benzjr" of Chris' Mail Plane prototype to find out about functionality. He replied that all 5 regions (maps) worked like a charm. He can't remember seeing a "Game Over" screen but that was because he and his children always succeeded in delivering the parcels. Looks like that the Mail Plane prototypes have the same level of completeness. :-)

The auction for Mail Plane ended about 20 minutes ago. Mayhem was overbidden by a second bidder. Let's see who the second bidder was and whether the second bidder will make this binary also public (assuming that it might be slightly different in functionality to the first one, which is not clear at the moment).
To me it looks very much as if the bidder was somebody outside the Vectrex community and not known, here, yet.

To me it looks very much as if the bidder was somebody outside the Vectrex community and not known, here, yet. What I can say is that the winner is French, and didn't bid on the auction Chris won.

I'm French, but I'm not the winner, actually even the starting price was too expensive for me

I didn't bid this time around to give others a shot (and to not drive up the price) However, at the price sold I think I should have bid just to compare versions, then resell. c'est la vie!
Hopefully the buyer will surface. But if not, I have requested to have my info forwarded to the new owner for further contact.
(you French folks certainly have acquired some nice Vectrex items over the years!)

Thanks, Chris, for not bidding on the second Mail Plane prototype. I guess nobody here expected a bid of 833 USD for the second auction; which is just a bit below the first auction. Would be good if the auction winner would write here and provide the binary for comparison. A public binary of the Mail Plane is due for many years, would be good if everyone helped to make this real, now.

Updated Quick update on the status for the cart from eBay: 321242332114- Receipt: Received 2013-11-18
- Operational Condition Check: Initial quick check done. Cart works. Overall in good condition except for the shell of course. Shell damaged as depicted in the eBay listing.
- Playability: Probably good per auction listing and feedback so far. My verification Plays to the end. Plays to the Game Over. Level Maps start differently. Controls work as expected. Definitely a better copy than one I currently have, and had made the ROM dump of a few years back. This cart looks promising to one of the Mail Plane carts other will be measures against for completeness.
- Dump: TBD. Will dump the cart using two different methods. Thanks to others who have jumped into to help on second method.
- Public Posting: TBD
- Collector's Boxed Edition: Under investigation for production Time to start assigning tasks for the boxed edition. Big hearts the both of you have!
My thanks to the people who have already sent funds to assist in defraying my cost in acquiring the playable cart! - Tony Holcomb (50tbrd),
- Lorne Allaire,
- Eugenio (TrekMD) Angueira,
- Helmet Mueller (hcmffm),
- Olivier Orillard
Everyone in the list above were very kind with your donations. Thank you, and those who helped in others ways! Big hearts all of you have! More was pledged after I post the ROM binary.

You're voted as the Mail Plane cart label artist. Care to try out for the box art? :-)

went spelunking and dug this up... all five maps work... if you fly East from Trenton you end up in Sacto... unfortunately going North from Albany doesn't get you to Ottawa

You're voted as the Mail Plane cart label artist. Care to try out for the box art? :-) One problem is that I do not own a copy of a boxed version of any of the Light Pen Games so I can make it accurately, though i already have made the Light Pen logo in the past and have it on file.
