Hi all,
I need your help for 2 things : - I am looking for the madtronics imager manual : if someone would give me a copy of it ...
- my second wheel (crazycoaster) spins correctly but no game is starting anymore (it used to) whereas any game starts with minestorm color wheel. Please help me !

There was a manual?! I've got the Imager and colour wheels (bought them in person from John), but I don't recall ever getting a manual with it. I'd be curious to see it as well.

Maybe rapetou33 thought there was/would be but there wasn't? Or maybe MT made one later.

Maybe rapetou33 thought there was/would be but there wasn't? Or maybe MT made one later. I never got an instruction manual as such. However, I did get a sticker on my madtronix 3d imager (mine is the 3rd generation version) giving some simple instructions. It says the following: Getting started: -The color wheel's white index strip is always faced towards the Vectrex. -The white calibration wheel may be installed between imager abd wheel on or top of the wheel (usually works best) -The imager is to be plugged into port two of the Vectrex -Enjoy your games. If you are having problems with your second colour wheel, check to see if the sticker index strip is present. Finally, a long time ago I put some information about the Madtronix 3d imager on my website. Go to the [Documents] tab and click on "Madtronix 3D Imager Colour Wheels" to download the PDF. It might give you an idea about the indext stickers.

ok I have just had a look at your site ; the color wheel index sticker is a bit faded. May the trouble come from it ?

ok I have just had a look at your site ; the color wheel index sticker is a bit faded. May the trouble come from it ? when you say faded do you mean the text or the colour of the white sticker? If its the text it doesn't matter. The sticker is there to provide contrast against the background so that the opto sensor can pick up each revolution of the colour wheel and signal that to the Vectrex. You did put the colour wheel in the right way round?

Some months ago there was an ebay auction in the U.K. with a Madtronix 3D imager. That 3D imager came with instructions printed in colour on a sheet of paper.

I have cleaned the sensor and it works by chance. Can't tell why it sometimes does not.

I'm not in the vicinity of my Madtronix imager now, but I'm pretty sure that I have the same brief instructions that vectrexmad typed up. They sound familiar. I think they were just a black-text-on-white-paper small sheet.
I install the wheel onto the spindle first & then the white plastic washer to snap down & hold the wheel securely.
Mine has worked fine. The only problem I recall was the PCB pulling away from the visor frame. I believe I just reglued it & think I might have improved the strain relief on the cable as it entered the goggles.
My only gripe is the comfort--a bit hard & awkward. Then again, if I don an original Vectrex 3D Imager, the foam leaves all sorts of black on my forehead, kind of like a football player's black face paint to reduce glare. Ummm...an upside-down football player...sort of...
What's the value of these now? I recall needing to ping John frequently over 6 months or so between payment & receipt. He was having some tough personal times & moving countries, if I recall. I did ping him recently, through his stale website, to inquire about how he made his color wheels, but he didn't write back.
Thanks, -Jason

He was having some tough personal times & moving countries, if I recall. Wow, moving entire COUNTRIES is pretty tough! Hopefully he'll get things in order and become a force in the Vectrex community again at some point in the near future.

My color wheels seem not to be compatible with Fury 3D games. Are yours ? Is there something special to do ?

Please ping me in a week. I'm swamped & not near my imager at the moment. The washer is simple--you should be able to fabricate one by finding a suitable plastic sheet, step-drilling bigger & bigger holes until you get the correct diameter, & then trimming the perimeter (which could be done by hand--the outside need not be perfect).
I recall my Madtronix imager working w/ Fury games. Please list the Fury 3D games in this thread & I'll check when I find time.
Thanks, -Jason

Yes, and not only that, on his website entry dated 2012-03-28 it says: "I propably would've come back earlier this year but a truck crashed on an icy road and nearly killed us. Luckily I don't need replacement parts and I should be 100% restored till the end of the world (2013) :-)" With details of the accident given at this link !
