Hi All, I’m trying to gauge the level of interest for a Vectrex overlay for YASI. Following on from the success of my last two screen printed overlays MineStorm and Pole Position I am considering commissioning my local screen printer to produce a batch of 50 YASI overlays. These would be professionally made as in the days of the original GCE/MB overlays. They would be -Professionally screen printed -Die cut -8 colour overlay These overlays will capture the spirit of the original Space Invaders arcade artwork. They’ll look very similar to the ParaJVE overlay for YASI. Parabellum has given me approval to base my overlays on his design. The printing process is more complex compared to the other overlays (Mine Storm and Pole Position used just four colours; the YASI artwork will use 8 colours). Also, they’ll be thicker than my previous overlays and have a similar thickness to the original overlays (500 micron) Do not confuse these with the lower quality homemade ink jet printer produced overlays. The price each would be around £13 / 21USD / 15.54 Euros plus postage and packaging. If you are interested please message here or email me at sales@vectrex.co.uk to get added to the "interested to order" list. If there is enough interest then I'll communicate with those in the list first when production goes ahead.

Too rich for my blood right now (I think it's a great idea though), but I'll include it with the next edition of the news for the Vectrex wiki (hopefully I'll get that out this week).

Ah man. I think I am going to have to buy one of these. It's not a game that I play at all, but the overlay looks so slick and I know you do great work.
It looks like there is more opaque area in this design than any overlay I have seen, except for maybe the concept one that I presented a year or two ago. So maybe I have a special interest in seeing this.
Anyway, I can't resist, and I am in for one.

Got a few PMs now, any more? I expressed interest in the "Facebook Fans Unite!" group. Didn't want to throw off your numbers by PM'ing here. Is there enough interest you think?

Yes, I think there will be enough interest for me to order a batch of 50. I'm visitng the printers next week to see the final proof. As there is not much of this year left I think end of January will be more realistic for shipping.

Though I have an overlay for YASI, I'd be interested in this as well given that it will be like the originals in thickness.

It's the same design but not of the same quality as being described here.

Count me in for one copy of the Y.A.S.I. overlay. EDIT: Just wondering what the Y.A.S.I. overlay combined with Michele Fiori's Vectrex wraps would look like.

I'm going to go ahead with a batch of 50. End of Janaury 2014 is likely delivery. Can those that expressed interest here please send me a mail at sales@vectrex.co.uk (if not already done so) so I can keep you informed of progress outside this and other groups. Remember sending an email does not obligate you to buying an overlay - its still an interest list
