when digging through my vertex stuff to pull Mail Plane i found a Mine Storm III chip... i'm assuming this is different than Monstorm as it has the MSIII title screen and your ship is invincible (except getting sideswiped by the minelayer) - i "played" to level 26 and stopped. it's not the Fred Taft hack as this came from an MB employee from the 80s and the hacked version has a different layout on the title screen, dated 1988 maybe a version of the Robert Van den Heuvel cart?

That's cool. I had never even heard of this.

Definitely seems like a version of Robert's cart indeed, as I hadn't heard that his ship was invincible there. When he was given the cart years ago, they said it had hundreds of levels and he would never beat it. I assume that means that his ship wasn't invincible in that version.

Wow, cool. Is there any way to upload the ROM or share gameplay video?

Other than ship invincibility, are there other differences between Minestrom III and Minestorm II.
If yes, that would be a big deal. I'm beginning to think of Minestorm as one of the greatest videogames ever. Also if yes, I'd guess collision-detection was disabled only for QA purposes.
