I recently got a VecMulti cart 1.4 from 2010. The rom names on pages 3 - 12 don't appear, yet still contain the games. Looking to fix the problem and add roms, my computer says it must reformat the micro SD card before it is usable. Does anyone know if the VecFlash loader pack from this site www.vectrex.biz/ would work on my version? If not, would anyone be willing to share the files?

Just letting you know I had edited the post since the link didn't work.
Hopefully someone will know the answer though.

If I have correctly understood your question, vec multi is not working that well on your vectrex (?) . I had the same problem with mine. I have actually returned the vec multi to R.H and have got a vec flash. The vec flash works perfectly (using the vec flash loader but I don't know if you can use it with the vec multi). Ask simply Richard for information (via his site vectrex.biz) PS Have you read my MP concerning fender guitars? thanks.

But you can use any Vectrex binary on the VecMulti. You can download binaries from vectrex.nl under the games section. Regarding the issue of strange menu text I know if the name on the binary has an unsuual character in the file name it won't be displayed properly on the VecMulti menu. You must use the loader specified for VecMulti. If you are worried about your microSD card, you could just get another one and experiment with downloading game binaries on that first. I think the maximum size SD card size is 2GB. If in doubt just email Richard H of vectrex.biz, he is a very approachable guy.

Hey, Kung Fu Jesus!! I preach the good news to everyone I meet. I tell them, "I'm not talking about your kumbaya, sitting-around-the-fire, everybody's-welcome, "Unitarian" Jesus. I'm talking about your Kung Fu Jesus. He's sick of this martyr sh*t and he's come to kick YOUR ASS!"
Anyway, I'd look at the beginning of page 3 or the end of page 2 for some illegal characters. The VecMulti menu only reads the first 8 characters so it doesn't hurt to cut down the file names, and find the offending title." You might have to add the roms one at a time, (or in small batches) to pinpoint the offender.)
Also, the SD card comes preformatted, so if the computer's saying it needs to reformat, it might be a dying SD card. They gradually do things like that - become unformatted, take a long time to read, before they eventually fail. Good luck!
(I too am a new VecMulti owner - still trying to get all my roms working.)
