Thanks, Michael, for the update! What did you change? EDIT: Found the answer in the download file: :-) 1.5 -Made bird brighter -Added Support for Vectrex standard high score -Fixed another high score bug where it would reset to a lower value sometimes. -Reduced the maximum score required to win, its now easier to finish the game! -Added new score name ratings -Added new win screen (let me know if you get to it!!) |

I spent some time hitting the 40s, but with a stroke of luck I made it to 50! [thanks for the mention at 41, by the way haha] Anyways, very cool effect! I watched it with a few different overlays and found I liked it best with the Minestorm overlay. I tried pushing buttons to go back to get a shot of my score, but it seems that I was stuck at the end screen. Not that there's anything wrong with that, though!  Props to you good sir for a fun game! And thanks for lowering the maximum score. I found that I could complete it in an evening |

Congratulations Wazzal you have the honour of being the first person to complete it ever!! I thought it would be cruel to end with something boring like "well done" You're right it doesn't show the score, you would have to reset to see the high score (I think that works). But if you see the win screen, you are at 50 that's for sure |

Nice work! Really fun game. My high score is 6. It improves upon the original in multiple ways: 1.) it's slightly easier (I think) <-- that's a good thing IMO. 2.) It's on the Vectrex, 3.) It has an ending, which is a huge improvement cause at least there's a goal to shoot for! Love it! cNp, the file name is now updated to include v1.5. |

I'm sure it is easier, the bird floats a bit more and another difference is.. 4.) the pipe layout is the same every time, so you can learn it. |

I knocked up a quick version over two or three evenings, just as a bit of a joke, following a conversation at work. It's nothing like as polished as this one though, just the basic game elements. 1) 'Bird' - that looks like a triggerFish 2) 'Flappynes' - to make you lurch up a given distance. 3) Evenly spaced 'Pipes,' with randomly generated gaps - which just repeat forever... just like the original  Also, I think mine is much easier. drive.google.com/file/d/0B3fXRo4EaQ5iLUlzVk5GenZJYm8/edit?usp=sharing I had no idea a 'proper' attempt had already been made! |

Thanks Garry, I'll give it a whirl! My daughter discovered an "easter egg" of sorts in Veccy Bird. You can fly through the top of the screen and appear at the bottom upside down. Four quick flaps at the beginning of the wave. Interestingly, you make repeat attempts for sharper angles. Then it cuts you off. No more messing around! It took a 7-year old to figure that out. Also, she says we need to make an overlay for VB. She's going to help me color it. Current high score: 21. |

Good that you're raising them on the retro stuff They don't even really understand that it's 'retro.' Then genuinely think it's fun. Still the oldest schools me in Wii 2-player Rayman Origins, "Dad, you're not keeping up!" She stomps me in anything with a 3d landscape. |
