Yeah, I need to sit down and at least try to play some of this... The easy challenges are very manageable and a good start, Mayhem. I'll play the medium challenges today.

More players would be cool. But: The less players the more likely you win. ;-) Yes true, but I still hope for more contestants. Those prices are just too huge. There needs to be fighting for them. I finally could play today and finished medium challenge. Guess im gonna dream of diaappearing columns tonight. Attachments:

Congrats, fmml! Third to qualify. :-) The disappearing columns can be quite challenging; while columns are hidden the game is faster and new gems are appearing even quicker (my impression).
Rapetou33, what's the situation?

Rapetou33, what's the situation? "Situation under control, Hotel Mike, beach area cleared, beverage stocks cleared" New target selected. Over.

"Situation under control, Hotel Mike, beach area cleared, beverage stocks cleared" New target selected. Over. Sounds like Olivier is drunken and on holidays and partying. "New target" is to get sober and home, again. ;-)

My idea was a two month battle for highscores. But in the meantime I doubt that people (including me) have enough time and enthusiasm to play Shiftd over and over, again for such a long time. The contest should be fun - not pain. ;-) So I've decided to reduce the duration of the high scoring (see initial post). And I might change the start of the scoring and thus the duration of the scoring, again. Regardless of the start of the scoring the end of the contest will remain the same: 1st November.

Here are qualifying pictures, as well as a decent starting score. Just to show I'm serious about any Minestorm II cartridge EDIT: oops, didn't see the part where scoring doesn't start for a month. Oh well, I'll leave the picture up so people know what to shoot for at least. (Full disclosure: Helmut and I were play-testers of this game, and our main job was fine-tuning the difficulty level. I think it was hard in some ways to make it fun for beginners and experts alike, but the overall game design warranted a deeper experience for the enthralled player, which a steeper difficulty curve provides. Once you figure out good ways to set up 4- and 5-combos with ease, this game can become as addictive as Tetris...) Also, I wouldn't disagree with claims that my status as a play-tester disqualifies me from any contest regarding the game. I only wish to participate to also show my love for it. This game is fun! Give it a good chance!

Hey, hey, another qualified person! Great Desfeek, that you are (partly) back and join the Shifted competition. ... (Full disclosure: Helmut and I were play-testers of this game, .. Oh, oh, open secret is revealed, now. ;-) With our feedback for Shifted we drove Martijn (Revival Studios) almost into madness. The effort was worth while, though, and you're absolutely right with the possible addictiveness of Shifted. Also, I wouldn't disagree with claims that my status as a play-tester disqualifies me from any contest regarding the game. I only wish to participate to also show my love for it. This game is fun! Give it a good chance! The rules for the contest are written in the original post. I don't see any rule saying that play testers or the author must not participate. ;-)
