Hi Everyone! I just picked up a Vectrex and am now in the market for a good MultiCart. Don't know very much about them, but I figured this was a great place to start! So if anyone has an extra lying around, let me know I would love to make you an offer. Thanks!

Welcome aboard, a new one was just released, so you might want to look here to see if that's something you're interested in and if it would suit your needs. There are also several others available though.

You're welcome. Others to consider are here, although that cart in particular can't be modified/everything's built in, and another flashcart can be found here, which can be fully modified and all, although those are best if you have a cartridge shell to go with them, as ones without one can be hard to fit into your Vectrex. Someone on here is selling these in case you're interested though, but these are just a few things to consider and all.

I just received the Madtronix Boxed Bundle and that's a very nice set of Multicarts. Its also the only way to play Bombenhagel as well as Martijn Van Welting's version of City Bomber (this is a little easier than Andy Coleman's version but not as polished).
The MuCaREX seems like a nice unit however I believe that it requires you to program your own chips before you socket them and that's not as user friendly as Juan Mateos' MVBD which is programmed via USB. Another downside is that it looks like its too large to fit in a standard Vectrex cartridge shell.

It's brand new and there's currently no feedback yet on the product, so I was just tossing it out.

So I decided to go with the VecMulti by Richard Hutchinson. Can't wait to receive it, I even picked up a sweet clear Vectrex game cartridge case to put it in! Quick question....Do you guys know if it play both .vec and .bin files? What is the deal on the two file extensions? Is there a converter to convert .vec to .bin? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! I don't know the difference between .bin and .vec. Unfortunately, seems that .vec cannot be played with the vecmulti. Only .bin It may be due to the menu maker. The .vec can be played via a vecflash. Hope it helps.

I have tried to put my vecmulti into a vectrex case. Richard has packaged the pCb in a small grey case which cannot be placed in a vectrex case. I think you will have to get the pcb out of this case (not sure it is actually a good idea). Anyway, you will see when you have it and tell us about it.(hope you have understood my English) Cheers

AFAIK .vec and .bin are exactly the same with different filenames. Rename the files and they should work fine.
