Highscore list has been updated - see initial post. Current top 5 ranking: Current top 5 ranking: 1. limitzer0 (600pts) 2. Chainsaw (600pts) 3. playvectrex (549pts) 4. Vorkosigan (537pts) 5. fmml (480pts)
8-Bit Waves and Chainsaw are both #1 with maximum of points. Brett and Vorkosigan are close. Moyu and D-Type have qualified - congratulations! New score code: "AVA" (valid till Friday 3 a.m. EDT / 8a.m. CET/MEZ). Score submissions with old score code "JANA" are valid within the next four hours. ___ 8-Bit Waves : Congrats for your 100% in Gyrostronomy! Moyu: Great that you've qualified! Perhaps you can dive even deeper in Big Blue? fruktodlaren : Good scores. You're the second person who played all 12 games. minsoft : Good GWSL and Solar Quest scores! Thank you for letting us know about your non-standard controller. D-Type : Thank you for playing and qualifying. Perhaps we start a cellar duell (i.e. " A competitive match between two teams [/persons] that are at the bottom of the match table.") Chainsaw: Great that you won "Get the beer" - congratulations!

Awesome!!! My sincere congratulations on beating the game!
You are the third person so far to achieve this. One of the two before you was a beta tester, so that does'n truly count, and the other one was a die hard Gyruss fan. It is very cool to see that the 100% can indeed be achieved.
Up to now, the game is still called a beta version, and I much would like to call it a final release soon. So naturally, as the developer, I am very much interested if you spotted any glitches or bugs or other things worth mentioning while playing.
Also, how did you like the final boss, Zar-Ruman?
Many Cheers, Peer

This wasn't aimed at me, but I thought I had a few niggles with the controls where it feels like the ship gets 'stuck' at times. This could be my controller, possibly it needs adjusting. I found it a serious issue when using a digital stick, but I realise from the manual it is only meant to be played with the standard controller. It would be nice if it could work with a digital stick, but if you have honed it for the analog stick I understand why you might not want to do that.
I am a big fan of Gyruss so I was really pleased to see the game, it is very well presented. The starfield is especially well done, and the overall smoothness is excellent...quite an achievement using only the original BIOS functions! At first I found it hard to differentiate between some of the stars and enemy shots but seemed to get used to it quite quickly. I like that it is not a direct copy of Gyruss, and was pleasantly surprised to see the variation in levels, like the ones with the line/barriers. I look forward to spending more time playing it...well done and thanks for making it!

Thanks a lot for your feedback! This is highly appreciated. Unfortunately, all I have is the original analog Vectrex controller, so I cannot really test how a digital controller behaves. In therory, there shouldn't be any differences, as I only use the JoyDigital() BIOS functions, and I did not experience getting stuck myself. But who knows? I will try to get hold of a digital controller and investigate this.
Many Cheers, Peer

I will investigate further as well. I suspect my original controller may need adjustment as it does some funny things with a Pitrex, although it works fine with all other 'native' games I have used it with.
I will give it another go with my digital joystick and try to give you some more detailed info. Thanks again.

Pole Position 77200Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play as much as I had hoped. But there is still time until Saturday. Edit: Oh no, just now checked that this is the wrong code... The photo is already a few days old and I actually wanted to collect scores and then post together. Until I realized that the time is running out. I thought I had time until tonight. Crap.

^Yeah, that happened to me once or twice over the years when I *thought* I had more time but didn't.
Folks, just make sure you read new code announcements closely and make sure you're remembering them correctly!

8-Bit Waves and Chainsaw are both #1 with maximum of points. Brett is 50pts and Vorkosigan 80pts behind. Score code: "AVA" (valid till Friday 3 a.m. EDT / 8a.m. CET/MEZ). ___ tatanga : Welcome to VW XI! That's really bad with the score code and not realy a good start. New score code "AVA" and old score code "JANA" have been valid in parallel for 4 hours. Collecting scores for several days isn't a good idea and the score codes are supposed to keep people from doing so. I try to make things possible as long as it seems fair to me. But here we're not speaking of small glitch and a delay of a few hours but days. I'll accept your above score for Pole Position and you and this score will be listed in the next update of the highscore list. But for any new score submission please use the correct score code which is "AVA", atm.

Hi, where do I go to post photo`s? what site do people use? Thanks Welcome, Darrin, to VW XI! Good to "meet" another veteran here on the block. There's a step-by-step description and a hint in the long initial post but you probably missed it: Some people here host their file on their webserver and some use Google Photo. Perhaps people can post in the topic "Free file hosting" and write how they host their files for free.
