Played the game yesterday. Amazing. Really great work. It would be amazing if it should save the high scores on the VecFever. Maybe something that could be done? Another oddity would be the orientation of the ship once the item got collected.
I made it to level 9 so far. It's a good challenge.

Thank you for registering, endprodukt , and welcome to the Vectorgaming forum. Testing phase of Cavern Rescue is over and binary is final - the title of this topic is old and does no longer apply. The odd behaviour when collecting an item has been reported before but Scott, author of Cavern Rescue decided to stick to it. Level 9 is pretty good and advanced, I'd say, looks like you're a talented player. PS: Gruß nach Kiel! PPS: Perhaps a moderator can change the topic title, just "Cavern Rescue" would be a good title.

hcmffm- I changed the title of the thread myself. Good idea.
endprodukt- thanks for the interest and the positive feedback!
Quick update- Sean Kelly (publisher) ran into a slight delay with the printing company he is using - thus the delay of the release. I will be sure to update this thread when the release is official (unless starting a new one to announce it makes better sense).

PPS: Perhaps a moderator can change the topic title, just "Cavern Rescue" would be a good title. That can be done but the original poster can just edit the very first post in a topic and do it that way, then resave it under the new name (or in this case, a "reduced" name I guess ).

VectorX,
I am the original poster (lol). I was able to change the title before you posted your message.

I see. I understood the game was considered final, I just hoped a small change could be done prior to the official Sean release.
Definitely a great release. I still wish I could save my scores of the VecFever haha

If you have the Vextreme Cart - it will save the hi-score. Several have attested to as much. I don't have one, so I cannot verify, but I am writing to (and reading from) the address that Vextreme expects.

I know that Malban made it work for Vectorblade. I guess pen and paper it is haha

Hello everyone! How's it going? Just wanted to give a heads up that Sean Kelly has published this game and it's in-stock and for sale right now at: Cavern Rescue

Thank you, SiLic0ne t0aD! Glad you like it. I sure learned a ton from doing it. I'm working on another that's coming along well. Good news is, I've learned from the inefficient design decisions I made on Cavern Rescue and this one's coming along quicker and should have much more variety to the gameplay. mrchrister- I hear you! You're definitely not the only one that has been saying that. On Vectrex Fans Unite group (facebook), it's been mentioned several times. My new effort will take advantage of VecFever as well as VecExtreme devices. You guys don't use the good old, traditional highscore lists that came in the back of the manuals? I always thought those were an awesome discovery and I included that in my manual for Cavern Rescue to stick to tradition. When I started buying used Vectrex games, complete in the box, twenty years or so ago, it was awesome to get some with scores filled in with the date column that were real from "back in the day"!!! Example from my copy of Solar Quest: Date | Name | Score | 1-22-83 | Stacy Jones | 142,500 | 1-4-82 | John D | 92,560 | 12-25-82 | Henry | 88,540 |
You guys ever get a copy of a used game with these filled in at the back of the manual? What a hoot. I picture them sitting around there vectrexes around Christmas time in 1982 playing away. Feverishly waiting in line to get their shot at Minestorm or Cosmic Chasm!
