Highscore list has been updated - see initial post. Current top 5 ranking: 1. kiwasabi (558pts) 2. mozie (547pts) 3. Chainsaw (544pts) 4. Peer (511pts) 5. arquillos (507pts) Len, Måns, and Roland ( fmml) joined in and have qualified - congratulations! Notes: - Threshold score of Clean Sweep has been lowered to 50.000. - Rule for resolving a draw amongst prize winners has been changed (see initial post) ___ @ Len: Cool that you participate in another Vector War. Your 7th Vector War - you are the youngest Vector War veteran I know off. I hope you like Shifted - the prize that you got instead of Bloxorz. Good luck and fun competing with your family and other players! @ Måns: Welcome to your second Vector War. Cool that you've played 6 games and qualified, already. Have fun playing! @ Roland ( fmml): Great that you're around, Roland. And you've started with a very good Vectrexagon score. Good luck playing and competing in VW 14!

Player: LEN Clean Sweep: 13350Player: MÅNS Clean Sweep: 14770As you see, tonight's session has been all about getting Len and Måns qualified, which we achieved. These Clean Sweep scores came to be because they didn't want to stop when they were qualified and just kept pushing on trying the next game. As I post these Clean Sweep scores for them, I can hear from the kitchen that they are playing Pole Position now. The younger generation and their abundance of energy... :-)

Player: LEN Pole Position: 55150Player: MÅNS Pole Position: 37520They both say they can do much better in Pole Position. Well... They both crushed me in this game, so I am looking forward to what they can do with a bit more practice under their belts. One have to have in mind that Måns is playing Vectrex for the second time in his life tonight. That's quite an achievement to qualify in the "world championship" in Vectrex gaming the second time you play on the console ever. Worth noting now when Moyu, Len and Måns occupy the last three places in the ranking. None of the players participating from my kitchen using my Vectrex are eligible to win the wooden spoon prize I donated. It would just feel wrong somehow if I didn't get to send it through the mail. So if Helmut approves of the exception, myself, Moyu, Len and Måns are all immune to winning the wooden spoon.

SketczI wasn't aware of fast turning in Marine Fox. I will have to give that a try. To get a score of 35,000+ it's really just a numbers game. Marine Fox is highly randomized and luck based. So I just played enough times to where I ended up getting the right items on later levels to get my score to the next threshold. And thanks for the detailed tips on Polar Rescue. I guess mainly my problem was I could never successfully dock to rescue the crew members. I would get squared up on the underwater base and the cursor would come up, but then it would get really tiny as I got closer and I would always bounce off no matter what speed I approached at. I think I need to watch some videos of other people playing the game to see what I'm doing wrong. No need to apologize for wanting to play this game. It's good to have a variety. Not all games are for everyone. Thrust is another one that's not for me but that's okay.

Release - 25,883 Marine Fox - 21,328
I had to step away for 24 hours. Was trying too hard and going "backwards" with my scores. What difference that has made in my energy and "calmness". You guys are amazing. Seriously!

Notes: - Threshold score of Clean Sweep has been lowered to 50.000. Good decision, I had wanted to suggest the same. Once time permits, I will take a look at the Clean Sweep code and see if this can be fixed. Which brings up the following question: What percentage of the participants does not have a flash-cart and can play only physical cartridges? It seems to me that everyone here is also playing games which do not have a physical release. By now there are many bug-fixed versions of the original WT and GCE games available, and I think it would be fun to play those in the tournament without the need of imposing any thresholds.

So if Helmut approves of the exception, myself, Moyu, Len and Måns are all immune to winning the wooden spoon. Hehe, Fredrik was so delighted to find himself in second-but-last place in one of the past intermediate rankings. He has been knowing about that fabled spoon for years and always wanted me to win it for him. Now he is taking his own shot at this, though at the same time he also just as much wants to get the best ranking he is able to So, judges, please clarify how the second-but-last place is defined if Tony's family is not eligible for the spoon? All their names removed from the ranking, and we see who is then second-but-last? Or only removed if the second-but-last happens to be a member of Tony's family? Which can yield different results.

And when I thought, I beat the Release record, then Peer did it better in the meantime. (You ruined my Monday... LOL) Look who's talking: The man who stole my Bedlam highscore

I'm speechless. Now you've got me... But somewhere I read, that you very like Bedlam, so you maybe still can beat my score.

Highscore list has been updated - see initial post. Current top 5 ranking: 1. mozie (559pts) 2. kiwasabi (547pts) 3. Chainsaw (546pts) 4. Peer (513pts) 5. arquillos (509pts) Judges will decide tonight how wooden spoon rule is handled. ___ Excellent playing everyone! Cool that hints are exchanged even before the end of the tournament. Cool, Len and Måns that you overtook Tony in Pole Position. @ John ( mozie): Do I get it right: You have beaten EDIH? Anyway, congrats to your brilliant EDIH highscore.

Look who's talking: The man who stole my Bedlam highscore Ohhh... Ok... Now... I'm speechless. Now you've got me... But somewhere I read, that you very like Bedlam, so you maybe still can beat my score. Yeah, I like it a lot. And maybe I will have another go at it. But likely not today, too much work ahead.
Fun fact: I find my bug-fixed 30Hz version of Bedlam (no stuttering in higher levels, zapper always correctly working, life-display correct) a lot harder to play than the original (which of course I play in the tournament). Though the zapper sometimes does not work in higher levels, the stuttering makes those levels actually slower than they should be, and thus easier than without the stuttering. Do you feel the same?
