Have any other Fury games had an overlay?
.. Do you guys think the image on the current Warrior site is definitely the finalized version of the overlay for that game?

Have any other Fury games had an overlay? No, this is the only one, hence the big price tag, plus he's using a bigger box in the likeliness of the original-released Vectrex boxes. .. Do you guys think the image on the current Warrior site is definitely the finalized version of the overlay for that game? If not, I'd say it's close as a guess, since he has a link to the person who did the artwork for it (no point in having the guy redo it if it's taking time and/or money to do, although I don't know if he was paid or what). Love the skull and spider on it!

Love the skull and spider on it! The logo and the designs within the playing field look sweet to me. I like the element of flames on the border, but I'm skeptical that the painterly effect will translate well into a printed product. Same with the skull which has a sketchy, hand drawn look to it. It would definitely be safer to design this stuff with solid lines and color fields, like a tatoo, (or like the graphics on all pinball machines and arcade cabinets). ... I can't wait to see the finished product, but I would work on this for free in a second!

What red overlay have you seen that actually makes the sprites look RED? Red overlays i have are Scramble, Bedlam and Cosmic Chasm. None produce red vectors. Star Hawk is orange-ish and sort of succeeds in producing orange.. Rockola's Demon had a RED region on its overlay. And yes, it really looked RED when I saw the machine back in 1982 (have not seen one in person since though). Keep in mind, 30+ year old plastic overlays may no longer produce the same color tint as they once did when they were new. For example, on original Star Castle machines(the arcade version), the outer ring region that was once RED, typically now looks PINK after years of age. I played one that even looked pink back in 97 when it was only 17 years old.

There's also a difference between overlays on a Vectrex and an arcade machine, as they worked differently. Makes me wish I had seen a Demon though

I have overlays of varying quality. cosmic chasm (red) is well used but i have a bedlam that is like new. similar result. i am confident saying that red vectors are more difficult to produce in this system. Impossible? IDk. But green is green, blue is blue, RED IS NOT RED.

I just saw on the Warrior page on the Fury site "june 14th 2012" at the top of the page. I'm pretty sure that was not there before.

I've had an update from Fury. Warrior bit copied and pasted as follows...
WARRIOR 2012 Release date announced. Note that I've expanded the release to 150 games. So if you've been wait-listed, now is your chance to pre-order the game! I don't use "buy now" buttons for pre-orders. To pre-order, please send your PayPal payment to: vectrosis@aol.com
$65 + shipping ($7.50 USA / $15 International)
I'm guessing I get these updates 'cos I've bought some games recently.
