^I don't think anyone would whine about it, really. Original/most homebrew Vectrex carts all these years later were and still are black.

Actually, I'd prefer silver aluminum look. But as organisator I can't win any prize, anyway, so no real problem for me.

I am not a good enough player to win it anyways but I also find the raw metal look very cool. I am sure though the anodized black cart will look extremely sweet also.

^There's the chance of winning the random prize though no matter a person's skill level.

Should include Frontier as a homebrew. Looks fun and will give me an excuse to buy it.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy Color Clash. It doesn't look like a game I'd play much. Is it a fun game? I haven't played any of the Revival Studios games at all.

8-Bit Waves, jbrodack: Thank you for your suggesting Frontier. Actually, yesterday, Big Blue and Frontier came to my mind and I had contacted Chris ( cNp). Chris suggested Frontier but he pointed me to a bit of a problem: The end score isn't displayed. A possible workaround might be counting the unlockable things. So maybe...

The game list is final, now:
- GCE/MB originals: Berzerk Cosmic Chasm Dark Tower Hyperchase Minestorm Star Castle Star Trek/Star Ship
- Homebrew: 2048 Frontier Space Frenzy Veccy Bird Vec-Man
Sorry for the late finalization. In the former list there were too many puzzle/riddle games. I've made various changes and hope that we've a good mixture of game, now.

Hi, if I have time to participate - can I use the RadPad controller? There is no extra electronix in it - its just a very well made controller.

I might as well ask a similar question. Should I have time to wire up the Skynät controller prototype, would I be allowed to use it? It is nothing special about the function of that controller either. Just a joystick and buttons in a custom case.

Malban, fruktodlaren: If possible you should play with the original Vectrex controller. I know that the Vectrex controllers are worn out by playing a lot but I think they last for quite some time if you push them too hard (in the word's sense).

Original controller it is then. Good to have that question sorted out before we begin.
Speaking of beginning... I will get the alu cart shell back from the anodiser tomorrow, by box delivery right to the door of the workshop. Then I will do a final testmount with a PCB to check that all is well with the shell and that it still fits in my vectrex. Only after it is verified to work, will it be packed in a nice protective cardboard box awaiting the address of the winner that chooses it as their prize.
Btw, where can I download 2048?

atariage.com/forums/topic/270483-2048-4k-version/You can download it there. I just re-read that AA thread and TomSon mentions that he was thinking of a tweak that would give different scoring, a 'deluxe' version. I think that the 2048 on recent VecFever firmware is called 'deluxe', so it might be a good idea to state the version to use is the one at the link above.

Helmut's pretty good at telling us where to download the games and has the official rules stated as to what kind of controllers to use and all once the contest starts. Don't worry.

Original controller it is then. .... Good, thank you. The gaming rules in the original post have a section on this matter: "Games must be played on original hardware. This means original Vectrex console and Vectrex controller. If a player doesn't use an original Vectrex controller for some reason he/she should please indicate this when posting his/her first scores. Not allowed are paddles or sensitivity-adjustable controllers, autofire dongles, autofire joysticks, or the usage of several types of controllers."Speaking of beginning... Only after it is verified to work, will it be packed in a nice protective cardboard box awaiting the address of the winner that chooses it as their prize. Very good. The aluminium cartridge shell is a really cool prize, I think. Thank you very much for crafting and donating it, Tony. Handmade in Sweden. ...I think that the 2048 on recent VecFever firmware is called 'deluxe', so it might be a good idea to state the version to use is the one at the link above. Thank you for this hint, D-Type. I wasn't aware of the different versions of 2048. I'll add a note in the original post right away.
