A prize of epic proportions? Is it a Vectrex console in scale 5:1? I'm very nosey, Tony, and I'll stay tuned. No, but that could be a fun one for next year maybe. But that would just be a solid statue of a vectrex. Thanks for the idea. I got the necessary answers I needed, so I can reveal what it is now. I have done a collaboration with Bob Alexander (author of the Vectrex32), and we will donate a Vectrex32 cart clad in a custom made aluminium shell I have designed. It's a very unique prize indeed as only three shells like that were made. Photos and additional details to come.

And much better than a clumsy and bulky 5:1 scale Vectrex console. Thank you and Bob for donating this great prize for the Vector War!

Very cool thing! Thanks Helmut! This year I will probably finally be part of it. And I am very curious about the prizes. What you can read here so far makes a really good impression! I would like to see Vectorblade, Beluga Dreams, HEX 1.0.1 or USA Zombie Apocalypse join the homebrews.

Zombie Apocalypse is probably too new but you never know. We'll see soon!

I was thinking about HEX too. Also maybe a Kaboom kind of game like Stocking Filler or Save the Trees from the first XMas Carr which is available for download.

I would like to see Vectorblade, Beluga Dreams, HEX 1.0.1 or USA Zombie Apocalypse join the homebrews. Something that always has to be considered is accessibility. A lot of people weren't able to acquire the first fun of Vectorblade and there also very little opportunity to play on a Flash cart since the hardware side of it is so experimental despite the release of the binary. Optimally, the game should be available to purchase (or have a high likelihood that someone owns it in some fashion) and the binary be released so people who only have a Flash cart can play it. We'd like as many people as possible to be able to participate, not only to make it competitive but fun for everyone.

Vectorblade once it comes out via Packrat I'd say, so hopefully next year.

My daughter Len who maybe should be considered a Vector War veteran by now, said that I should strongly voice her support for bringing in USA Zombie Apocalypse in the homebrew lineup this year. She seems to be a natural at that game, so I understand why.

Some news one the game list: - Beluga Dreams is in. (Binary is available for free) - Vector Blade is in. If you don’t own a copy of Vectorblade and plan on competing, please contact Brett ( playvectrex ), soon. - Vectrexians and Color Clash are questionable due to availabilty. EDIT: I've just updated the game list and section "Availability of Games" in the original post.

Beluga Dreams will be available again on 8bitwaves.com in a few weeks. If you need/want a physical copy for the tournament send me a PM and I'll try to get you one before it starts.

Not quite "cheating", but more like "farming", I'd think. Like I said, if someone can get through the game until the end without losing many lives and starting days over and over again, their score would be lower. [/quote] I think this tactic is possible on many if not most games? Especially games that don't have a proper ending. As far as high scores go, usually there is some skill or trick you need to learn to get them, in all games. And now the "secret" is out so everyone has a fair shot

^Well, not everyone can get to the end of Every Day Is Halloween. And we ask for people to be honest. Cheating is pretty despicable at our age anyway.

I'll chuck in some of my pins as prizes if you like. Should have 4 variants by then and can throw in a 'special' chimney hunt cart too if you want it.
