I'll chuck in some of my pins as prizes if you like. Should have 4 variants by then and can throw in a 'special' chimney hunt cart too if you want it. Sorry for not replying any earlier, Jim ( marblemad), and thank you for your offer. Having some variety in the prizes is good because some people have it all, already. Your pins are really beautiful and will be nice prizes. You may decide how many pins you want to donate (1-4) and whether all pins should go to one winner or whether it's one pin per winner (I'd prefer the latter so more people can win something). Personally, I'm a bit hesitant with a special version of chimney hunt. Reason is that we have two pretty special prizes in this year's Vector War, already, the aluminum Vectrex32 and the wooden spoon prize. On the other hand: Why not another special prize? Please decide yourself, Jim - your donation is much appreciated in any case!

Hm... Difficult, how to get the spoon AND the Vcetrex32 ... that is going to be a real challenge :-) Easy: Simply convince Helmut to limit the overall number of participants to 2 players only

Some news one the game list: Every Day is Halloween is on the game list, now. Chris ( binarystar) will create a special version for the Vector War with a change regarding the life extends. Thank you very much, Chris! Please note that this special version must be played within the Vector War so you will need a programmable cartridge like VecMulti, VecFlash, VecFever, or VEXTREME. Minestorm is on the game list, too. Minestorm is THE typical Vectrex game and a must for Vector War X, I think. Color Clash has been removed from the game list because it's not available at the moment. Spinball and Vectrexians are still a bit questionable.

That sounds reasonable!
As an alternative to Vectrexians I would like to throw "USA Zombie Apocalypse" into the ring again. The game is available and would also fit the season.

Kristof Tuts, author of Vectrexians has just posted in the Facebook group that Vectrexians is available. Overlays are available in 2nd quality, only. See [a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/vectrex/permalink/1413916365485403/?__cft__[0]=AZWd2uAiudpdRH6fTUv-Xgv49rg2pa-QuPy8X4mhsptznltNUsynTB5ieaneR1wP0sVf4X5HmUmtVoGoBGbSqNsHdgkF7XUH9fuZ9GuWrkB5jXLjoMt7C6c8nw_FBuUNDXAq2O_jVlv_GOoLIXjtDo7xpDeh1rEWwi4ZRmHbc-tEftoefuolFU89g1dLi2I0SuvdUTOI8vLeMsFzSqzX2iRo&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R"]here[/a] for mor details.
EDIT: Thank you for suggestion USA Zombie Apocalypse. Vectrexians is available for purchase and therefore the list of homebrews is full. USA Zombie Apocalypse might be played in next year's Vector War.

Vectrexians Post on Facebook
Regarding Minestorm... that's cool! I have a request. Can we please make it Mine Storm I? I made a special build of Mine Storm I earlier this year just for the occasion! My Mine Storm I Post on FacebookI will copy it here for those without Facebook:
I've found it hard to believe nobody has uploaded the arguably better version of Mine Storm, i.e. the first version, Mine Storm I. When faced with frustration or boredom, I find myself turning to Creativity and Making to feel joy again. I've been putting off taking the Fred Taft disassembly of the built in Mine Storm I ROM and compiling for flash carts for a while now. It's a simple matter of rearranging memory and putting the header back to normal, but I went a step further and made it clearly distinguishable as Mine Storm I by using the same layout as II, and just removing an I. Here is the compiled 4KB binary for the multicart or EPROM of your choice: www.playvectrex.com/gameroom/gce/minestorm1.binFYI: This is the original Mine Storm I with level 13 bug that shipped with the US Vectrex: I modified level 13 just as a test to just be normal mines so I could beat it easily. It went to 15 after and started with all normal mines, but two of them were invisible type. They are not really invisible... they are just dots, but if you don't have your brightness set correctly you won't see the dots. The "invisible" mines make it harder. Don't worry, the version above has level 13 nice and hard. I hereby declare a challenge to all of you that still play your Vectrex to break this out ASAP tonight.. yes tonight when you read this... and get above 100,000. I set the bar low, but if you do not play Mine Storm I you will so see that is tougher than you remember from Mine Storm II. Post your screenshots below for as high as you can go! Here's my first attempt, level 12 if I remember correctly.
As you can see I set the challenge a bit low by Vector War standards. Mine Storm II is really quite easy to score high, and not really that much of a challenge. I bet many of the MB Vectrex owners haven't had much if any play time on Mine Storm I as well ;-). If we stick with Mine Storm II, then I believe the max score should be bumped up a bit higher than if you played Mine Storm I.

FYI: This is the original Mine Storm I with level 13 bug that shipped with the US Vectrex: ...that shipped with the early Vectrexes, as I have a US Vectrex that goes up to level 89. I didn't get mine until '84 though, so it was obviously a later version.

I didn't get mine until '84 though, so it was obviously a later version. My childhood European Vectrex from 83 also had the level 13 bug Minestorm. By then I thought the "invisible" mines were intentional, and they were a mean challenge. The idea of just turning up the brightness never crossed my mind as I had been told that this might damage the screen. So many fond memories of those days...

Would be good to have a standard standalone binary for Mine Storm, if there is any question of different ROM code on different Vectrexes.
