I also have a "fixed" version of Mine Storm II for use on flash carts if necessary. Mine Storm II has a bug that requires the upper 32KB space to be padded with 0x01 data to prevent crashes.
Anyone else think "Minestorm" should be clarified to be "Mine Storm I with xxx,xxx points" and/or "Mine Storm II with xxx,xxx points" ?

Well, the first 13 levels of any version of Mine Storm are the same, and Helmut always has the score cutoff at 150,000 points, so that doesn't really matter, I don't think.

If I remember correctly people were saying that the first 13 of the original Mine Storm is a lot harder.

Mine Storm II is definitely easier after level 13. Not sure about before because after 13 you just get the magnetic, fireball and magnetic-fireball mines over and over again. With the ones of us that have the Vectrexes that end the game on Mine Field 89 there are the "dot" mines that are hard to see starting on level 15 and the, yes, flat-out invisible mines on level 32, I think it is.

Right, maximum score will be 150,000 points. This way the various versions of Minestorm shouldn't matter too much. My previous post was incomplete. It should have said: Thank you for suggestion USA Zombie Apocalypse, again, tatanga. Vectrexians is available for purchase and therefore the list of homebrews is full. USA Zombie Apocalypse might be played in next year's Vector War.

I might be wrong, and I cannot check right now, but I recall already level 2 of the MB version consoles (magnetic mines) to be different than level 2 on the GCE version consoles (fireball mines). As a whole (which is probably what you meant), the first 13 levels might be the same, but the sequence in which the various types of mines appear at least is different. For a novice player, that might make a difference.
Cheers, Peer

The difference in Mine Storm I vs. II is clearly not as obvious as it may seem Mine Storm I is a lot harder to get to level 13. You can also see the high scores listed here for I vs II and make some judgement that Mine Storm I is at least twice as hard as II www.vectrex.co.uk/hiscore.htm

Every Day Is Halloween (Competition Version) for use in Vector War X. This version disables life extends and disables all cheats. When submitting a score, please take a pic/screenshot of the high score table with "VWX HI-SCORES" visible so Helmut knows you're not cheating Download here : binarystarsoftware.com/bin/EDIH_VectorWarX.BIN

I didn't realize every day is halloween had cheats. I'm guessing disabling extends is to prevent marathoning.
I've always had trouble with Minestorm in Vector War. When I've tried Minestorm II it seemed easier but would alway crash on my vecmulti. The built in Minestorm I could never get a very good score on. The one with the harder level 2. I was thinking of getting the high score version of Minestorm II for the competition.
Maybe I responded too late but when I tried ordering Vectrexians I haven't gotten a response. I got Vectorblade right away though. The LED isn't as cool as I thought it would be but otherwise awesome.

I have a "fixed" version of Mine Storm II that will not crash on flash multicarts like VecFlash/Multi or VEXTREME (although VEXTREME patches the bad version of MSII in real time now, so not necessary). www.playvectrex.com/gameroom/gce/minestorm2-fix.binI got Vectorblade right away though. The LED isn't as cool as I thought it would be but otherwise awesome. Hey I'll take awesome over cool any day What were you expecting differently though? Maybe I can work on it. Feel free to post it here, or email me ;-) FYI, it's October 15th! Half the month left... if you want Vectorblade before VWX, you should order it before next weekend, October 25th. Thanks!

If there are still Assembled Vectorblade PCBs without an RGB LED after the tournament, I would love to get one. Should I message you after the Tournament? Don't want to disturb the process

Hi All. Thanks for theses "special" versions of Minestorm, like this one with level 13 "bugfix". I will try it as soon as possible, and I hope it will work on European Vectrex machines. Because in the past I always wanted to play the US Minestorm versions, but on my machines, and also in the emulator, I got crashes and extrem slow downs as soon as I reached a level with "star dust mines" or "small dot mines / invisible mines". So I will try this new versions that you posted as soon as possible on my European Vectrex :-)

Did I mention that there will be prizes in Vector War X? There will be five prizes - maybe even more - that people can win in Vector War X. Please note that there's a random prize, too, so not only "high-scorers" can win a prize. Chris M. ( binarystar ) donated a special edition of his Every Day Is Halloween for Vector War X. Thank you very much, Chris, for donating this beautiful cartridge for Vector War X! This is what it looks like:
