Excited! A couple of homebrew games have selectable difficulties. Do we play on the default for all the games? --- As an aside, Halloween is a great tate shmup. Some Galaga vibes, and a lot of fun. I didn't know it existed before, so I appreciate the patched ROM being provided. (Unpatched crashes for me.) Kinda glad I didn't practice now. Got 72 seconds on Vectrexagon last night and feel I might not beat it. Same with Lucifer. 30k on my first go, but afterwards when focusing can't match that. Anyone else find they do well when they don't care, but focusing they mess up?

Qualifying will be very easy this year. There are (still) no threshold scores Thank you for your hint, Peer. I've just fixed that. ... Do we play on the default for all the games? ... Right, all games are played on default difficulty (no adjustment required). In Thrust please choose "1. Normal". The Thrust binary didn't work on my Vectrex console. I've patched it using the ROM patcher and voilà, no more problems. I've packed the patched binary also into the ZIP archive.

Looking forward for the tournament. Big thank you already now to hcmffm for organizing and providing the ZIP file. Also ordered A crush of Lucifer two weeks ago, and got it 2 days before the Vector War start. (Didn't play it yet, but I think I will like it.) Good luck to all participants :-)

I sometimes make it onto the portal then fall right out of it. Good luck everyone! See ya out in the battlefield.

Scores for games and ongoing discussions in regards to the contest will go into the Vector War Tournament thread. This thread will remain open in the meantime unless it is deemed that it should be locked.

It will be a late start for me today as I have obligations to tend to throughout most of the day. Tonight I will swoop in like a pterodactyl, on that you can be sure. Fruktodlaren, out.

Thank you, Darryl, for splitting Vector War posts. Hehe, two more minutes to go, and the forum statistics says: youtu.be/UJ1tBVtYOBc?si=JQoOW2jsqA9wj-mD&t=85 (I've watched the music video for the first time and noticed the 3D wire frame rendering. Must have been pretty new and cool in the 80ies)

Sad to see Sea Pup go, because I had almost arranged to have a Sea Pup aluminium shell made for the prize table. But I understand and stand behind all changes made so far. Would it be in bad taste if I had a Vectrexagon aluminium shell made commemorating its late author Andreas, and donating it to the prize table? Technically I would be using the artwork without permission. Sorry for removing Sea Pup of the game list, again. Currently, all over the world there are wars and I felt more comfortable not to play Armor Attack and Sea Pup this year. Sure enough, one can discuss this and there is war in many other games, too. And it even says "Vector War". But it was my feeling to do so. Sorry for the extra hazzle with the aluminum shell. Regarding Vectrexagon: FAIK, Tony H. ( 50tbrd ) did the graphics and I guess he did it for free. If you create few copies of Vectrexagon aluminum shell noone should oppose or sue you for copyright infringement. And I'm sure Andreas would have agreed if he were still with us. The artwork and logo were my design, both the First Edition sold by Andreas and the unlimited version sold by Packrat. I did both with a cart as remuneration. It's fine to use the logo or artwork as long as it respects Andreas' memory - non-profit or a portion benefits Andreas' family.
