They weren't racing games, but the two Kikstart games on the C64 were ace. Also see Dare Devil Denis.

I always liked the Moto Racer series for PSX but Hang On looks like it was good too.

Someone suggested this on Atari Age sometime ago. I checked it out and its a nice game. Might be cool to not only have a 3D racer but also a 3D Imager gamer out of it.

I edited your post to embed the video, 50tbrd. That looks really cool and something that would be doable on the Vectrex. Having it made for the 3D images is also a neat idea.

I don't know how difficult it is to program games for the 3D Imager, if the 3D itself is a big or complicated part of the process, but the COLOR that it provides to vector graphics is the most impressive feature for me. The 3D effect seems a bit glitchy to me at times but the colorization is nearly FLAWLESS. I think it compares very favorably to the color vector displays of the arcades AND IN SOME RESPECT IT SURPASSES THEM. .. The Vectrex 3D games still have perfectly smooth NON-PIXELATED vectors IN COLOR. The Atari color vectors that I have seen are all quite pixelated and they also seem to lack that distinctive glow.
.. So I say also we need more 3D Imager games, but I add a caveat: I DON't REALLY CARE IF THEY ARE 3D OR NOT. I want more COLOR, and if 3D effects require a lot of "resources" I say skip that part and focus on gameplay and graphics.

Red Alarm from Virtual Boy. Would be a perfect match due to its wire frame graphics

^I remember seeing that a few years ago and thinking its look was close to a vector game.

At one point i made a small prototype for a wipeout kind of game to see if it could be done. While i did get something up and running, it is currently on the backburner as there are other projects that need finishing first Also: Motoracer on PS1 is awesome!

Spike's Slam Pit looked like it was going to be a Reactor clone. I assume work was stopped on that long ago but I could be wrong. As for Spike's Slam Pit, that does look like Reactor! Too bad it ain't finished but, at the same time, I have grown very very tired of so many Vectrex games having either a name that starts with 'V' or having Spike as the main character so maybe it's for the best. Having a "slam pit" doesn't make much sense (sure sure, flying around inside a reactor core wasn't that logical, either, but it made video game sense) considering that that game seems to obviously be Reactor so just call it Reactor. And not Veactor or Vector Reactor. I found the original C sources for Reactor today, I am shocked I was able to. And yeah yeah at the time I don't think Spike was over used in games, it was January 2002. (that's 12 years ago)

I have a WIP version of Reactor, called Reaktor. I think you should call it "Spike's ReVector" ;-) cNp
