One of the things that caught my interest is that the device provides a headphone jack, (and requires it for use). One of the earlier VecVoxs had a headphone jack too. Well, did it work the way I am asking? Would it universally provide audio-out for the console? |

The AtariVox+ has a 3.5mm jack as output for the sound and voice generated by the AtariVox+. 3.5mm is standard, most head phones will fit directly or with a cheap adaptor. Any sound generated by the internal Vectrex sound chip will be output via the Vectrex loud speaker as usual, not the AtariVox+. There's no such thing like a combined output signal (Vectrex+AtariVox+). (I hope I got your questions right, glip.) |

you got my question right hcmffm. Not the answer I was hoping for unfortunately.
I was hoping I could have all Vectrex audio on all games in any Vectrex I plug into, output to external speakers.

I'm not sure about how that works. I think only the enhanced sounds are heard through the AtariVox+.
I'm waiting to get the invoice from PayPal. I guess Ax hasn't sent it yet.

Other things I read summed this up the same way, just not so explicitly. ... I did read of others who already have audio out on their Atari, combining the various signals in an audio mixer, to put everything out the same speakers. I suppose you could just as easily do this with Vectrex, if you adapt your console with audio outputs. ... I was just hoping I could get that with this device, without modding my consoles. The answer is no. I'm waiting to get the invoice from PayPal. I guess Ax hasn't sent it yet. Heh, sorry. I made my very first inquiry just a few days ago, and received invoice by email today. ... Perhaps my mail to him was more accessible since it was so recent. Or maybe you already have one in your inbox? |

The audio jack is only for the sound of the speech and sound effects from the SpeakJet chip in the AtariVox+. |

Yeah, but to go the weekend without it, though! Although not quite as fun, I did some contract work with an attorney at one point, who didn't pay me for over a month (the Texas Quick Pay Statute says you have to be paid within 30 days). I filed a complaint on him later, getting a letter back one Friday in regards to the complaint being rejected, since they could only accept complaints on attorneys that were still practicing law in Texas, which he wasn't. Had to go all weekend before being able to call them on Monday to confirm that he was denied practicing law due to mostly mishandling cases, as they received like 60-80 complaints on him |
