The Vectorcade is an excellent, arcade quality controller created in 2006 by Brett Wallach. Many pictures and details can be found on Brett's webpage. To me it looks as if Brett started a new run of the Vectorcade, called Vec2cade (refering to version 2, I guess). Have a look at this ebay auction: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vec2cade-vectrex-controller-/130960765658The case design looks very much like the Vectorcade 1, but various graphics have been added. I'll contact the ebay seller and will ask for some details.

Yeah, some more info would be quite useful. Brett sold the mould for the original Vectorcade (I own it!) when he sold his prototype stick, so this would have to be a different/new mould.

That looks really nice but that price is killer.

It's a nice looking bit of kit... But spending that much to enhance a machine that is thirty years old and getting creakier by the year? Mmm...Nah.

I don't get what you are saying sj, but that price haha wtf. Like putting a 'go faster' exhaust on your Model T Ford, or... putting double glazing on your mud hut, or... buying a Ferrari to plough your field, or... er... Get my drift?

Its a masterpiece. The originals were amazing quality, this seems even better but I think the market is VERY small for a $600 controller for any system. If it came with a matching console you might could get that or even a lot more.

I think the market is VERY small for a $600 controller for any system. Gads, is that what it costs in U. S. dollars? For something like that, it'd better not only be very godly (I really like the Mine Storm stuff on this one), control-wise, but it should also come with a hooker for the first couple of days (at least).

The seller replied right away, but I had been away this afternoon. The ebay seller replied that he's not Brett but a Vectrex fan.
120 USD with shipping in the U.S. included back in 2006 was probably a too low price. But about 700 USD just seven years later for pretty much the same thing seems a bit too high. At least a too high price for me.

The debossed logos are completely different.

The seller replied right away, but I had been away this afternoon. The ebay seller replied that he's not Brett but a Vectrex fan. See if you can find out any more information about how he made it. As I noted, the original moulds are in my possession, so he's either based it off the original because he OWNS an original Vectorcade, or he's copied it from studying photos online. Even if I didn't own one, I'd agree with the statement that the original might have been underpriced, but this is a bit overpriced.

The debossed logos are completely different. Well spotted, 50trbd. The original Vectorcade has the GCE style "Vectrex" logo while the "new" Vectorcade has the MB style "Vectrex" logo. In the ebay description it says "...made to the same specs as the original with one difference it's at last paying tribute to the European market!". Probably that's the difference the ebay seller refers to. Mayhem: I've just sent him another ebay mail with various questions and a pointer to this discussion.

I will also say that while the original had a flawless mirror-like automotive grade finish that this version has nowhere near the same quality of paint finish eventhough it excels in many areas.
